    Post CFB season rankings (January)

I'll only do top 5's except for positions I feel like doing more for.

    QBs:

    1. Cam Newton - Possibly a bigger, more badass version of that pansy Donovan McNabb.
    2. Jake Locker - Underrated.
    3. Ryan Mallett - He's a plodder, but other than that I like him. Character might be in question, but nowadays who's character isn't in question? IMO he becomes a Kerry Collins type.
    4. Blaine Gabbert - Stock seems to be on the rise. He's a talented guy. That said, right now my gut says he's the guy getting hyped because he's kind of Luck-lite. Probably more of a Charlie Whitehurst type developmental QB prospect, and an excellent value as 3rd round pick IMO.
    5. Chris Ponder - If this guy was 2-3 inches taller...

    RBs:

    1. Mark Ingram
    2. Ryan Williams
    3. DeMarco Murray
    4. Michael Leshoure
    5. Jacquizz Rodgers

    No FB

    TE:

    1. Kyle Rudolph - Still a big fan of this guy.
    2. DJ Williams
    3. Luke Stocker - More of a traditional type TE. Solid, from a solid SEC program going through an awkward phase, I guess.
    4. Lance Kendricks
    5. Jordan Cameron - WR turned TE from USC with some projectability left. This spot can go to maybe 3-4 other guys, but I like Cameron's upside.

    WR:

    1. AJ Green - Awesome, but there's something that makes me wonder whether he's overrated or not.
    2. Julio Jones - Freak and arguably underrated right now.
    3. Jonathan Baldwin - Might be a bit of a diva, but to be a diva you have to have talent first. Not an elite WR prospect, but probably in the class of Plaxico Burress or to be more recent, DeMaryius Thomas (minus the flawless character).
    4. Randall Cobb - GGI seems right on with this guy. Had an excellent season as a WR this year, and I think he projects as more than a Brad Smith type.
    5. Torrey Smith
    6. Jerrell Jernigan
    7. Titus Young
    8. Greg Little
    9. Dwayne Harris - East Carolina is one of my favorite smaller programs to find good players from. Harris will surprise.
    10. DeAndre Brown - Talented is there to be the 4th best WR in this draft, but he's not right now.

    OT:

    1. Anthony Castanzo - Not an elite or even exciting athlete, but who doesn't buy a good BC OL prospect?
    2. Nate Solder - Joe Staley type.
    3. Derrick Sherrod - Seems to be on the way up, maybe.
    4. Gabe Camiri - Road grading RT type.
    5. Tyron Smith - Bruce Campbell 2.0, but from a much better program. Maybe I underrate, but IMO he's the 3rd best prospect on their OL.

Marcus Gilbert from Florida is an excellent RT prospect.

    OG:

    1. Marcus Cannon - I thought about putting him as high as my 4th best OT.
    2. Rodney Hudson - Sounds alot like Ben Grubbs.
    3. Mike Pouncey
    4. Ben Ijalana
    5. James Carpenter
    6. John Moffitt
    7. Orlando Franklin
    8. Jason Pinkston
    9. Stephen Schilling
    10. Clint Boling

Underrated class, but I think I always say this about OGs.

    C:

    1. Kris O'Dowd

    2. Stefen Wisniewski
    3+. Everyone else

I'll do 4-3 DE in later rankings, this one I'll just do 3-4 DL and LBs.

    3-4 DE:

1A. Cameron Heyward - I'm extremely high on this guy.
1B. Nick Fairley - More explosive player than Heyward, but gives up alot in character and work ethic.
    2. Marcell Dareus - Only reason he's not #1 is that he's merely 6'2 and that is a sin.
    3. Cameron Jordan - Damn good player and exactly the type of talent we'll lose on the DL (Pryce and/or Ellis).
    4. JJ Watt - Not sure this guy is the slam dunk 3-4 DE prospect he's being hyped as lately.
    5. Christian Ballard - One of my favorite athletes in this draft...moves his feet extremely well and should be big over the next couple months.
    6. Allen Bailey - Really an excellent value in the 2nd, but I feel like he'll end up going in the 1st to a reacher.
    7. Mohammed Wilkerson - Has a great body for the position, but needs to add strength.
    8. Pernell McPhee - Similar to Alex Carrington, and going to be a solid player. Good, sturdy frame.
    9. Lawrence Guy - High upside guy, could be higher easily.
    10. Kenrick Ellis

    NT:

    1. Jerrell Powe
    2. Phil Taylor
    3. Sione Fua
    4. Kenrick Ellis
    5. Jarvis Jenkins
    6. Colby Whitlock - The mf'ing man. Really, there's others but we'll know more about this position soon enough. I like Ian Williams from ND as a changeup type of NT like Myron Pryor.

    3-4 OLB:

    1. Robert Quinn
    2. Ryan Kerrigan
    3. Jeremy Beal
    4. Von Miller
    5. Aldon Smith

    3-4 ILB:

    1. Bruce Carter
    2. KJ Wright
    3. Mason Foster
    4. Mark Herzlich
    5. Akeem Ayers
    6. Greg Jones
    7. Martez Wilson
    8. Kelvin Sheppard - I actually like him more than a couple guys I have over him.
    9. Nate Irving
    10. Colin McCarthy

    CB:

    1. Patrick Peterson
    2. Prince Amukamara
    3. Jimmy Smith
    4. Brandon Williams
    5. Aaron Williams

    FS:

    1. Patrick Peterson - Just in case someone actually wants to try him there.
    2. Rahim Moore
    3. Deunta Williams
    4. Robert Sands
    5. Kenny Tate
    6. Quinton Carter

    SS:

    1. Robert Sands
    2. Deunta Williams
    3. Ahmad Black
    4. DeAndre McDaniels
    5. Jaiquawn Jarrett
    6. Jeron Johnson
    7. Tyler Sash

Just simply outstanding, your a good reason to read this forum..
    Very minor questions and comments.
    1. TE , Stocker > Williams... It's a height thing... Could Williams be a pass receiving type of FB for the Jets ?
    2. WR, Torrey Smith > Cobb
    3. OT, agree Camini is strictly a RT, how far could he drop ?
    4. OG, Jason Pinkston awfully low, IMO as high as fourth
    5. 3-4 DE, very interesting, great job, not sold on Heyward ( I have Gholston issues) that high, Darius ranked correctly (IMO maturity issues rather than height knocks him down), Ellis as a DE ?
    6. 3-4 OLB , Miller and Smith> Beal
    7. 3-4 ILB, I have always seen Ayers as an OLB, possibly a SLB over the TE, could be outstanding at ILB. No love for Martez Wilson, Could Wilson or Jones drop to the end of the third ?
    Thanks for posting

    Thanks for the compliments.

    1. Williams being a FB/TE is interesting. It's something a coach could try out...Chris Cooley was used like that when he was younger...that's a coaching/organizational thing. Kendricks is another guy I'd try it with, maybe, if I were to try something like that.

    2. Torrey Smith is on the way up indeed. He's got the potential to be this draft's Wayne or White or Holmes...the non-giant playmaker at WR with WR skills like route running and strong hands.

    3. Camiri could/should be gone by the end of the 2nd IMO...probably earlier...IMO...right now anyway.

    4. He is pretty awesome, and is one of many with room to fly up...I underrate him and he's ranked high most other places.

    5. Put Ellis at DE because of Gerard Warren and somewhat because of Ngata...I like his athleticism, and I think his 6'4 height makes him one of those guys who can play anywhere on a 3-4 DL.

    6. Beal's underrated IMO.

    7. I think Wilson could drop to the end of the third...he's not a very polished player, just really freakish athletically. Ayers needs strength no matter what system he's drafted into.

you see Herzlich on the inside, I never thought about him there.

I like Gabbert much more than you, middle of the 1st rd type guy

Fairley is my number 1 pick, I dont see what everybody is talking about with the character questions. I see a Guy that when he team was being blown out by bama he kept fighting.

I like Heyward as the 4th best Dline. His bowl game helped him though as he played well on the big stage.

    I want Randall Cobb somehow.

He's going to make Brad Smith look like a turd.

Only things glaringly bad here is Kelvin Sheppard and Ryan Mallett being so low. Otherwise, well done.

Sheppard reminds me alot of David Harris...when it's all said and done I'll have him as an early 2nd rounder. He just got swallowed up by my urge to bump up some guys like Wright, Carter, and the overhyped on NFLDC Foster.

Same for Mallett...he's slow but QBs aren't drafted because of their speed...here's looking at you Cam Newton, kinda.

I can't believe it's Senior Bowl week already, I think.

Some quality DL or OLB prospect's bound to fall within reach. Expect the usual glamour positions/athletes to rise on draft day.Really hope we reload on the front 7.
