I love it but with just two exceptions.

I think we need to re-sign Harris and I think we should draft a safety somewhere in the mid-rounds.

Yeah, adding a safety would be nice. I think they'll probably sign someone or move Lowery to safety, where he belongs.

With Harris, its a money thing. Getting rid of him frees up the cash to sign Aso. Pipe dream, I know.

i actually really like the draft, i feel like if we were able to resign harris though in that offseason it would be just what we need. A nice infusion of youth in the LB core and nice player addition to the DL

Wimbley is the only guy I don't know about. He had one spectacular year in Cleveland, and after that? Ehh..

We should trade for Tanard Jackson.

I think he is a free agent. He is still suspended though until Sept. 22nd for violating the substance abuse policy...

I'm a huge of this -- signing Holmes & Edwards is my top priority, then getting Nnamdi would be one the greatest signings in Jets history. Even the McMichael signing makes sense. Don't know too much about Wimbley but he has good size and was former first round pick.

But if you're going to cut Eric Smith, we need a better replacement than Lowery. I'd say that's gotta be our 4th round special this year.

Anyone know the supplementary draft implications of losing some of our FAs?

under that scenario you dont get anything earlier than a 6th, losing Cro and harris gets canceled out by signing Wimbley and Aso.

And Aso is going to come in for a discount?

Love everything but the Matthews pick...knocking an hypothetical 5th round pick 3 months before the draft seems crazy. He's solid, but we have one of those with Magua.

First 4 picks are awesome. I'd much rather have Lawson than Wimbley, but Wimbley is probably the more probable one.

Nice draft, but more likely we resign Jenkins, Taylor, LT at discounts then Aso at discount

Its a pipe dream, but not completely insane.

Guy just made huge money for 2 years, is gonna be 30 years old, and has been stuck in raiders hell.

Im just not sure what "discounted" would mean....$8million a year?

I think all three of those players are toast. Jenkins in the only one I would really accept back, but even he has a lot to prove and he's set to make a lot of money next year.

Taylor and Tomlinson have nothing left to offer the Jets and both should be replaced by younger guys.

I also like Lawson more, but I think he's going to get a big contract from someone. The Jets are more likely to wind up with Wimbley or Kiwi, who are going to be significantly cheaper IMO.

What don't you like about Matthews?

I agree. We just shouldn't dish out $7-8 mil on an ILB, they are just too easy to replace, plus we could use a more athletic ILB that can play better pass coverage.

Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if we bring back Harris for less than what many perceive to be his market value.

He'd need to put on 10-15 lbs to play ILB in our 3-4 too.

You gotta love the pedigree though. He's one of those guys that you know won't go high in the draft, but will be a solid NFL player for the next 8-10 years.

I love the Matthews pick in the 5th round actually. I'm more than willing to take a shot on anyone from the Matthews clan. Actually his praise from his coach and peers is very strong so what's to lose on a 5th rounder anyway?

Dime a dozen talent...slightly undersized LB...I think he'd do really well for himself with someone like the Colts...for us...meh....maybe if he's as good at his brother at not getting caught.
