    http://www.theknicksblog.com/2011/02...rmelo-anthony/

Reportedly the Knicks have acquired Carmelo Anthony, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Chauncey Billups in a 3 way deal with Denver and Golden State. More to come….

Soon we will have a six team NBA. Might as well watch the Globetrotters, not much different. Good luck Melo, better learn to play some D or the Knick fans will tear you up.

The Knicks should have just waited and gave up nothing.

Here's the contract situation for the guys coming in...

Melo - Obviously we all know he'll be getting that extension
Billups - $14.2 million option for next season
Balkman - Under contract through the 2012-2013 season for $1.675 mil per
Carter - Off the books after the season
Williams - Off the books after the season

Bad move. They won't get past Boston or the West. Glad the Nets didn't bite.

The Nets did bite. Melo didn't want them, not the other way around.

Basically, this deal comes down to Gallo/Mozgov for Melo.

    +1

People can bash this trade all they want. They can bash Melo all they want - the Knicks are a better team now. Not only do they get Carmelo, they get Billups who is a winner and one of the most underrated players in the entire NBA and whose contract expires by the time Paul, Deron Williams or Howard are ready to sign with the Knicks in 2012.

Oh and we keep Fields too.

    PG: Billups
    SG: Douglas
    SF: Carmelo
    PF: Amare
    C: Turiaf

    Bench: Fields, Balkman

Talk is that both Gallo & Mozgov are merely moving across the Hudson to the Nets as soon as this trade is consummated. Denver will send them back to NJ for picks.

Mozgov will be the prized Russian star/talent to attract the Brighton beach crowd to see the Nets in their new BK digs in '12-'13.

Yeah not this year. And then after the Knicks add Paul, Howard or Deron Williams in 2012 they'll beat the Heat and Celtics in the playoffs. Bad move

The people complaining about this trade are the same ones who bashed the Knicks signing Amare. How's he doing for them?
