OT- where can i find weights?

i'm done with the gym- i wanna start working out at home, but the only thing i have left are my "perfect pushups" which work great.

i want to get 2-pairs of dumbbells (15 and 30) and a pull-up bar. does anyone know where i should get them? i don't mind getting used equipment, i'm trying to find a good deal.

thanks!

I work out almost every day and I've still never spent a dime in the gym. I bought myself a treadmill for about $500 at Sears. Then I bought a $120 weight bench from Dave's Sporting Goods. Then I went to Olympia Sports and spent a couple hundred dollars on dumbbells.

I know, a $1000 sounds pretty steep, but remember you could be paying gym membership dues for the rest of your life. This is a one time charge so long as you take care of your equipment and perform all of the preventive maintenance.

If you have a treadmill for cardio workouts and a weight bench you can do nearly everything you can do on those gym machines.

Modell's sells rubber hex dumbells and they're really nice. The pull up bar I'm not sure about.

Go to yard sales, you can get used workout equip for practically nothing.
I have a treadmill- recumbent bike- rubber free freights- perfect push ups
a good universal machine.

It's overkill but it's great to be able to do "different" exercises that work the "same" muscles. That is how you stay in shape.

Also most importantly, get a good friend to work out with. This is really important because it's real easy to do lazy workouts.

A good workout should be at least an hour with no rest, switch off of the tread & bike while the other person is doing lifting, constant motion, means even the lifting is cardio.

good luck.

You can get some good dumbells at Walmart pretty cheap.

Craigslist is probably your best bet. You could buy a barely used set of dumbbells from someone with the good intention of buying home fitness equipment and using it once.

Ur welcome mate, JetGenius ur off to the races now

But seriously, if you want to get fit real quick burn fat some of the best ways also the cheapest ie pullup bar (te kind you can suspend in the doorway with clamps) and especially a good skipping rope (with ball bearings in the handle for quick rope training). Jump rope training is a pain in the ass which is why its so effective - boost ur cardiovascular fitness, coordination plus u look cool doing double unders and other variationshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yHjnfABvhw

check this dude out, he's like from the matrix or something

You can have all my weights for free.

All they do is leave rust stains on the basement floor.
