What's the story with Callahan, his title is O-line and assistant head coach is it not? You'd think that he would have been targeted at the very least as an OC for some team in this league.

weren't the Rams denied permission to speak with him about the OC job? i maybe incorrect but i remember seeing this..

anyway the Jets worked out Caleb Shclausenfruede for an hour with three other teams...must've sucked learning to spell his last name as a kid...

4.69 for Ayers puts him back in the first round discussion, I'm guessing (that is, if he ever really left).

Is UCLA known for a notably fast track or can we take 4.69 at face value?

it was run on field turf- not a fast surface...

problem was Ayers had been training at a sh!t facility then went to API for the past month...for so many of these guys is as much about teaching them how to run as much as it is inherent (or lack thereof) speed....

Moore was not hurt....he made the choice not to re-run the forty...his combine best was 4.58 as per the master report...

Thanks again for the info CB! Not knowing the intimate details of what the Jets are looking at, I was kind of hoping Ayers wouldn't run much faster so he would still be there if the Jets wanted him.

As far as Moore, I'm not a fan of using a top pick on a safety Ypres we're talking about Reed or Polamalo.

I don't think he ever left the 1st round discussion for most people. Its obvious when you watch him that he's athletic and has some speed. A stop watch isn't going to do much to change your mind.

And I don't think anyone ever expected him to run 4.5s, so his combine time couldn't have really been THAT much of a disappointment.

I don't think he will be there at 30.

just curious - what does it cost to train at one of these top facilities and who foots the bill (I'm assuming the agents do, but have no idea)?

The agents pay, but i have no idea how much it costs. It is expensive, probably upwards of $20K per guy. An amazing business for these places as they provide a virtual necessity for these players nowadays.

If ayers is there at 30 he should be our pick. Rex loves versatility and ayers has a ton of experience in coverage, along with the speed and athleticism to rush the QB on a blitz. Also has good sideline-sideline range to help against the run. Seems like the perfect guy to play opposite of pace on day 1 since he wont be changing positions and has more then enough college experience.

$15K-$20K assuming no rehab surgeries....agents pay though most have written in the agreement if the player ups and leaves for another agent he must pay back training in full...
