um..... maybe the fact that he's still the Jets OC?

He sucks. The Jets got as far as they did in spite of him, not because of him. He is a major liability. Sanchez would likely develop better with another OC. He has to go. Schott is Schit.

"You know, I've got nothing but the utmost respect for Coach Schottenheimer and his goal of scoring 10 points a game. In my experience, you put up a Hamilton, you're going to win most of your games. I'm cut from the same cloth and have an even deeper respect for Coach Ryan's defense. As such, we plan on scoring 9 this season. And that's an average. Sometimes we'll score 12, other times 7."

"People ask me what I'd call my offense. I look at a guy like Mouse Davis and his Run & Gun Offense or someone like Marv Levy and the K-Gun Offense. My offense I like to call the Ball & Chain offense. We're trying to move the ball just enough to move the chains, just enough to turn every 3rd and 9 into a 1st down. Even if we get it to 4th and 8, Ball & Chain baby, Ball & Chain. Gotta have 9 points to win in this league. That's only 3 field goals. That's do-able."

"No, I'll answer the question. I think someone on the Jets owes you guys an answer. The reason we gave up 24 unanswered points in back-to-back AFC Championship Games is poise. Is it easy to solve? Yes. That's why I'm hiring a Poise Coordinator. Herman and I spoke just a few minutes ago and it looks like we're close to adding him to my staff. There's some compensation going on between the Chiefs, Bud Light, and ESPN, but we think we'll work that out by camp."

Look, I want Schottenheimer gone as much as the next guy, but it's April 1st and therefore it is a stone cold lock that he is going to be the Offensive Coordinator for the 2011 season. We'll see what happens afterwords.

The Chad Pennington thread has been rather interesting.

Brian Schottenheimer is a great offensive coordinator.
