Kerrigan would be a great pick at the end of the 1st. he might slide as something may think of him as to small for a 3 down DE, and a project as guy standing up.

I dont see him as a good fit for the pats at 17, but later on a great value.

Woot woot they're becoming my favorite pick ideas at 30...or they would be if Heyward didn't exist.

Today's visits for #Jets: LB Akeem Ayers, OT Gabe Carimi, CB Chykie Brown, CB Josh Thomas, DT Sione Fua and RB Bilal Powell

Looks like the Kerrigan report was inaccurate

So the guy goes from royalty to unimpressive by virtue of his 40 time? What time were you looking for? Which one was unimpressive - his pro day or combine figure?

What's the point of having them run 120 feet in a straight line if it doesn't make or break them as prospects?

not only was his 40 bad but his 3-cone was awful

another problem he has a reputation for soft tackling

We all hated Kerry Rhodes now we love Akeem Ayers?

I don't believe rex wants any players who can't tackle.

Well, his pro day was a 4.68 which is better. I guess if his numbers were better, he would not be available at 30 anyways.

He doesnt have much strength either as 18 reps for a guy his size is poor.

I don't know why everyone puts so much stock in workout numbers.

Gholston ran a 4.6 and put up 39 reps of 225.

Didn't exactly translate to the field.

My beef with Ayers? The comments of "He was hardly ever asked to rush the passer but he will be a great pass rusher if the Jets pick him,.......trust me."

I have no doubt the guy is a good all around backer and his workout numbers don't concern me. However I don't think we need a good overall backer. We need a pass rusher. If he is not a great pass rusher go for a DE or NT depending on how the board falls. (Or even other positions of value for that matter.)

Thomas is my neighbor. Next time I see him, I'll have to ask him how the visit was and maybe give you guys some inside info.

What do you guys think of him as a later round CB? I think he has the athleticism to become a better pro than college player. And what round would you consider him in, 5?

they should draft Isaiah thompson from Houston. He ran a 6 second 40 yard at Indy. Cause he won't be Gholston.

Why do that when there's a player with long, flowing blonde hair who kinda sorta resembles the biggest defensive star from the latest winning team?!?!?

the Jets need to find a skinny dude who's really good at Excel spreadsheets. He can help Tanny balance the cap. And he won't be Gholston.

I'm not sure its the case that he was "hardly ever" asked to rush the passer - just that he didn't do it exclusively. And, from what I've seen, he was more than a competent pass rusher. Now granted, I've only seen select highlight videos and don't profess to watch every game in the PAC-10 (not even close), so I can't say that I've seen every snap or anything close to it. But, from what I've seen, the guy is very versatile, is dogged in pursuing the QB, and plays with fire. I doubt he'll be an impact pass rusher from day 1, but that guy probably won't be available at the end of Rd 1.
