Thread: Taxes
Im happy to cut spending. I've said it about a dozen different ways. You choose to ignore it and throw out the socialist card. But I have in many threads said spending must be cut AND taxes must be raised.

we need to remember what's politically realistic and what isn't. It's not realistic to think the deficit will be filled by pure spending cuts. Congress just can't get that done.

As for raising taxes on the mythical "45%" its all the tax credits and loopholes that are allowing these people not to pay. Take away those credits and loopholes that's an effective tax increase and I support that as well.

There is no such thing as pain-free deficit reduction. To get this thing under control all will feel the pain, rich and poor.
I could go for that Bit so long as the taxes raised go to paying down the debt not another government spending spree.

Lets be clear here Bit, I call you a Social Wealfare Statist because you are. You espouse the ideology of Euro Social Democracy (i.e. Social Welfare Statism) regularly and repeatedly. You decry capitalism, and support State based redistribution and promote high tax rates. You've even begun to quote diehard Euro Socialists as parts of your positions here.

Bit, you are a "Social Democrat", regardless of your inabillity to simply admit it or not. There is not a shred of American Capitalist/Entrpreneur/Personal Responabillity supporter in anything you write here.

And when it comes to cuts, your reply is as predictable as any other Euro Socialit would be: Cut the Millitary to hell and back (Global Millitary Socialism, the US as just one of the guys in a UN Driven Utopia) and some mumbling about being willing to cot elsewhere, when you know for a fact you wouldn;t actually support cuts to medicare or any other entitelment. High Taxes, Kill the Millitary, Redistribute Wealth, the Bit Trifecta. Oh, and rampany Party-based hypocricy, (R) makes you scream, (D) doing same makes you "tell us it is what it is" in the usual meek and uninterested way.

End of the day my friend, if you don;t like this characterization, stop putting it out there. That, or have some integrity, and actually stand up and be what you are, proudly. This quibbling (saying one thing, then saying you're not that thing) is tiresome.

    Comrade.;)

I love capitalism. She can be a harsh mistress sometimes. True captalism is often brutal and not as much fun as we'd think.

I say they make taxes fair; each person pays the same amount as everyone else, rich or poor. Then we'll see how much spending needs to be cut, lol.
