    Sorry to bump this thread.....got a summons to serve tomorrow in Kings County (Brooklyn) and was wondering if wearing of shorts and a t shirt are frowned upon?

    You will likely be sitting around in a room for hours with dozens of other people equally as miserable as you. My advice would be to dress as comfortably as you can (provided that that means garments on both your lower and upper half of your body).
