Hampur Watch Afficionados

    I need your help.

So my tax refund finally came the other day (wtf took so long right?) and I have decided as a reward to myself for passing the CPA exam I want to take a portion of it and get into the watch game.

I am looking for a watch with a leather strap, I can not do steel, pisses me off to no end. I am willing to spend up to 1,500 on something that I really like, but ideally would want to keep in at $750 or lower.

I know next to nothing, so any help, suggestions, etc would be appreciated.

    Me too.

I should get a watch someday. I'm golfing for the first time in my life today...actually had to buy my first pair of shorts I've worn in 15 years.

    I should've picked up a watch too.

Yeah I know that watch's are pretty impractical just for the purpose of telling time, but the business professional life is the one I am in, and I dont know, I just feel out of place in the work place with out one.

(on a serious note, this is a great on-line vendor when you decide what you want)

Hamilton is a respectable company that makes great, high quality watches for around your price range. Check them out.

Being you're a CPA, I suggest one of these:

It's even got the leather band....:D

    A VERY good brand.

Also Paulie hit it right with Hamilton. They have some great leather band watches.

Agreed, I am really getting into the Hamilton Jazzmaster line. You can get a very nice Viewmatic auto from them for ~$500. Here is one in rose-gold plate with a silver dial:

And Jomashop is a good vendor as Gronk pointed out. So is Ashford.

Baume et Mercier is a very good brand, but I would recommend you stay away from the Capeland series and get something from the Classima or Hampton line instead. Dive/chronograph watches are traditionally considered unprofessional in an office environment. I think this Classima would be perfect as well:

Another good brand, somewhere between Hamilton and B&M. The Visodate is a good watch. I really like the day/date feature.

Jetworks, what is your thoughts on the store Torneau?

Would you recommend purchasing from them? I stopped by there today during lunch.
