Have you guys had Pancreatitis before?

I have pancreatitis right now and it's the worst feeling ever! My front and back abdominals hurt like hell. Also, I don't even feel like eating. For the past few days I've been drinking water and gatorade. Unfortunately, I do not have health insurance so i can't visit the ER. Any of you guys have any home remedies to cure pancreatitis. Any suggestions would help. Plus I need to give up the alcohol!

    Your welcome.

Ummm...you can go to the ER, bro. They'll bill you after...but they'll give you care. I wouldn't risk it. Better to see an ER doc and have to foot a bill later than to not go and have something bad happen....

Go to the hospital NOW! I had pancratitis a few years ago. Worst pain i ever had. They removed my gall blader. If you ignore it, which i tried to do, the pain will become unbearable and could eventually kill you. Your body is screaming at you. LISTEN!

Instead of going to Canada, come to Massachusetts where we will give anyone free health care. We are a socialist utopia. Need an EBT card, come on down! Need free housing, come on down! Need unemployment, come on down!

+1. Get to a doctor, worry about the cost later. Jokes aside, pancreatitis can, if untreated, become fatal, as a family member of mine learned the hard way.

My father was hospitalized for 4 days 2 weeks ago with acute pancreatitis. After being yelled at by everyone to stop drinking his 2 glasses of wine a day, a first day resident(not joking) figured out that the pharmacy mis- prescribed his blood pressure medicine and a side effect of the meds was pancreatitis.

You should get to an ER where they can do a cat scan to check for necrosis.

How do you know it's pancreatitis if you haven't been to a doctor?

I had it in Astoria Queens once. They have a lot of great Greek food in Astoria.
