Had a bit of a Castanza moment yesterday

Went to the 4th of July outhouse races yesterday in a neighboring town.

There are 4 races and you bet on who will win, I correctly handicapped three of the four winners. I was standing in front of the trophy table after the races for the raffle drawing (correct winning raffle tickets) to see if I won a $25 dollar prize or the $50 grand prize when I heard some yell, "look out!". I turned around and there was this big dude running out of control at me and the dense crowd around me. This guy was big, probably 6ft 5, I picked his outhouse because of his size. He was running up to collect his trophy.

I don't know if you've ever seen someone who has tripped but tried staying on his feet until the eventual big crash. They get low and build up steam before the total wipeout. The guy was low and coming hard. He bounced off one guy, and came at me. I didn't even have time to get my hands up, I just jumped and liffted my knees to protect myself. I stress I didn't kick him, because when he bounced off me he barreled into a baby carriage and he actually broke a couple ribs landing on the carriage.

All concern was of course for the baby, who was strapped into the carriage.
The carriage was upside down and the baby was inside and hanging upside down, but perfectly fine. The carriage landed on the baby's very young sister who was at first hysterical, but fine after a few minutes.

Thankfully no one suggested that I kicked the guy into the baby carriage to save myself.

I'm sitting here stripped to the waist eating a block of cheese the size of a car battery.

Life is nothing but a series of Seinfeld episodes.

self-protection usually involves some form of the 'duck and cover' maneuver.

you executed the 'jump and swing knees up' maneuver, which is a trademark cockfighting stance you seem to have innately acquired in your many battles with angry roosters over the years.

Substitute 'in a neighboring town' for 'my driveway' and it sounds more believable. :P

And you didn't even get a picture of the parents that brought their baby to an outhouse race?

I would have thought you'd be wearing a velvet suit.

I was anticipating a flustered Timmy frantically yelling "I was in the pool!"

Instead we get another chapter of his adventures living amongst the backwoods mountain people.
