Two of Rock's immortals, the late guitarist/vocalist Steve Marriott (Small Faces/Humble Pie) and drummer/vocalist Phil Collins (Genesis, solo career) both had roles as the Artful Dodger in London's West End productions of Oliver.
Sorry...been dicking around here in the hampur for about a year and thought I was aware of all the inside raggage. You guys have just laid down way too much material.

BTW it was awesome...Vicky Maltesta, who had the biggest tits in middle school and put out, is the other part of that Steve Miller story. Awesomeness squared.
Objection denied; Vicky is awesome; Steve Miller just happened to be there. Surely the use of chemical refreshments were involved. Overruled.

Pics; because I'm sure it happened.
Before morphing into one of the fathers of heavy metal with his seminal band, Motörhead, Ian Fraser Kilmister--better known as "Lemmy"--was a member (bass/vocals) of the tripped out/hippie/space rock group, Hawkwind.

"Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite" of the Beatles Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band LP was written almost entirely off of an old circus poster that John Lennon found in an antique shop in Kent, England.

Chevy Chase played drums with the college band The Leather Canary, headed by school friends Walter Becker and Donald Fagen who later founded the group Steely Dan.
Rush, in fact, sucks.
Before being called 'Rush', the band was called 'Hadrian', then 'Ogilvie', then 'Judd'.

Geddy Lee's real name is Gary Lee Weinrib, and he's Jewish.

Rush has seen a spike in album sales recently as children looking for Nickelodeon 's "Big Time Rush" pop band accidentally hit the 'buy' button on iTunes. As a result, the search terms "scary weasel", "howling freak", and "squealing pig" had to be redirected by Apple.

LOL. Classic. As bad as his solo records could be in spots, let's not forget that Phil was/is a totally bad a$$(ed) drummer for sure. Chester Thompson isn't too shabby, either.

Prog is the most horrible thing ever to happen to music, it was just an excuse to make really long, really monotonous songs with lame hooks...
