it doesn't. But he was actually on this team and the coaching staff apparently saw enough.

Bring back Maybin or sign Brown. Activate Ellis and let's bring some youth and hunger to this defense. Some of these current guys play like they been there before and they haven't won squat. We need a shot of some new blood on D.

Definitely bring back Maybin asap to give him another look. To not do so would be very foolish.

Aaron Maybin needs to take some time off, put on about 20 pounds of muscle, learn how to play special teams, and then maybe he can play for the Jets.

People can crap on Maybin, but Westerman sure looks slow as hell rushing the passer and McIntyre is non existant.

    This is true.

If we cut either one and signed Maybin, I'd be happy. I just don't see it happening.

And I'm tired of the special teams talk. Special teams is about effort. If Maybin won't put in the effort and he has no success rushing the passer, you can get rid of him and find another guy to play specials. Let's not pretend that Westerman or McIntyre are integral to our success on special teams.

if we havent brought him back by now i doubt we ever do

Jets really should sign him. They'll have a roster spot - fill it with someone that can rush the passer and give Cromartie some help...

McIntyre was the guy who took the double on the McKnight punt block and Westerman escorted Trufant in the EZ. I'd say that's pretty good ST play.

let me also repeat myself Maybin is too small for this D. he's not James Harrison 6 feet 240 he's 6'4" 235. He needs to be like 255 to be a 3-4 OLB

He won't be asked to play all the roles of this D - He will come in are clear passing downs only.

He is an undersized one-trick pony who was easily handled by most of the 2nd and 3rd string tackles he faced in pre-season. Starting tackles will easily shove him up the field.

and Westerman missed the tackle on the end around for a TD on Sunday to boot...

That's ridiculous. He played a total of three quarter in the pre-season and had 3 sacks and multiple pressures.

    I would take a Sack a quarter.

That one trick happens to be the trick the Jets need most at this point.
I thought we ended this relationship
I suppose you and the rest of the detractors are satisfied with everything that's transpired?

Rex is a genius. If he says it ain't so, it ain't so. Right?

Instead of your sarcastic comments and eye roll smileys, how about doing a reality check? Rex's way is obviously not getting it done. There's a problem. And it's time to try something different. You can whine all you want but having a guy like Maybin will help balance out the approach this defense is currently using. What's the worst that could have happened Sunday with maybin? The Jets would have lost by 3 TD's instead of 2? Here's one for you...

I dont understand why the call for a pass rusher when it's the run defense that's the problem. Oakland's best pass offense was drawing pass interference penalties.

You're saying you want to fire Rex??

We lack a quick strong LB in this defense who can cover in the flats.

We need speed and athletisism up front, usually we are strong and stout enough. Now Maybin would add exactly that and present the opponent with another look...

Exactly something different from the Jets defense the way it is now every dam team in the NFL knows what were doing, just like Schottes offensive play calling.

I do not think Maybin should ever play, he can easily make a living by charging 100 bucks for signed poster "The greatest Jet who never was". Surely his fans will pony up.
