    Saw Terra Nova last night...

    Not bad; 2 glaring problems:

    1. The premise: altering the timeline or jumping to an alternate reality. According to the scene with the probe, they are not altering their own timeline (ie, they never found the probe within their own future). So they jump to an alternate reality (aka parallel universe). This breaks a physics law about not being able to change the mass of the universe.

    2. Teenagers are grossly stupid, but stupid enough to steal a vehicle and go out to drink in a forest filled with dinosaurs waiting to eat you? REALLY? And then they know how to operate assault weapons? Then they want to run thought a dark forest, back to camp, and think they'll survive? REALLY???

    Thoughts?

I missed it. All last week I'd been asking my son why the "travelers" in the show would venture back to the time of the dinosaurs? Weren't the dinosaurs, and nearly all other life, destroyed when a massive asteroid hit the Yucatan Peninsula and Earth was plunged into a prolonged "nuclear Winter"?

At least on the commercials for it, the brunettes on the show looked hot. True?

I didn't read either post above me yet because I have it dvr'd...

I just need to find 2 hours (really like an hour and 20 minutes) to watch the damn thing...

Worth it or not worth it...?

They go back 85 million yrs, so they have a few million to prepare (about 20 million), even with the glacial speed of government (see what I did there?).

AGAW - if you can get by the wildly illogical temporal paradoxes, yes its worth watching. Also, there are some hot chicks, and 1 dude gets the "Jurassic Park lawyer treatment"

LOL. And the brunettes were....? Shelly Conn, in particular, has my rapt attention.

Aisha Dee is also adorable. Wait, is an 18 year-old chick too young for me? Hurry, please. I need to email my wife.

The daughter is hot, and the leader of the Sixers.

But again, the temporal paradox things are boner-killers.

I watched Lost for 6 years...

    I'll make it

Hot chicks is a definite bonus... My only concern with this show is that it is network and if they farg me over like they did with Flashforward, I'll swear off network TV forever...

The more I look into the show's cast, the more I will need to see a replay on Hulu. Allison Miller, who plays Skye, looks very cute.

yeah ... Skye: mega-doosh. Typical teenage b1tch. "ooooh, if you're really a man, you'll come with me into the forest where there are thousands of dinosaurs waiting to eat us."

    IQ=0. fail. :rolleyes:

I see that another gorgeous 18 year-old--Naomi Scott, who plays Maddy, the daughter--is in the show. I'd gladly help populate Earth with her or any of these chicks. Who cast this thing, Hefner? How the hell did I miss the first show? Idiot.

It was ok...I hope it doesn't become an annoying hybrid of the famously annoying Lost.

Not to worry...FOX is repeating the pilot episode this Saturday @ 8pm.

    Set those DVRs boys.

A distinct possibility, given the "rock etchings" and the Sixers.

But dinosaurs are always cool, and an easy/exciting/gory way to get rid of characters.

SPOLIER ALERT (this baord needs spoiler phb tags, tbh):

Considering the answered the biggest question about the biggest "mystery" of the pilot IN the pilot itself, I wouldn't worry too much about LOST'ism.

The etchings were somethign LOST would have taken 4 seasons to answer. In this, they answered it (who was behind them, the head guy's kid), and sorta answered why even (some mumble jumble about where/when they actually are, which is probably the primary mystery/theme of teh first season, i.e. not where they think they are).

Don't forget the Sixers partial mini explanation (don't want to go into too many details yet).

Now I know why you call yourself quantum.

You're a Quantum Leap fan. You nerd.
