Well it's this few month long protest (though who knows how long it will last) which has thousands of people marching through out downtown manhattan. I work in Union Square and these guys were around here one day. Basically, they are protesting the top "1%" of people who "run everything," and by everything, I do mean everything. So now it's time for us, the "99%", to take power back into the hands of the people, or at least find a balance. You haven't heard of it because there has been a media blackout! That's how you know its right, when the news won't show it. There have been people sleeping there down in wall street, supplying free food, water, and yes, even electricity to those joining.

I can't imagine why people who have their days free to do nothing but protest down on Wall St. could possibly be whining about wealth

I seem to have heard all this before: "Power to the people. Death to the fascist pigs. Kill the cops. Kill the military." That was over 40 years ago. Some of those people are Wall Strreet crooks. Many are teachers who have been teaching kids the glory of socialism.
Losers with no money are generally jealous of those who worked and didn't waste their lives using drugs and alcohol.

Here is another newsflash you won't see on TV. The middle class who actually work for a living view them as whining, immature hipsters with way too much time on their hands. The only ones who suffer by their mass temper tantrums are the middle class working stiffs in the area.

Humanity is nothing if not predictable.

Some people earn power and wealth. Most don't.

Those who don't have it will always want and feel entitled to take from those who have earned wealth, without putting in the risk or effort or talent to earn it themselves.

Hence the frequency of socialist/communist uprisings, workers movements, unions (labor monopoly) movements and the like.

The average "worker", who risks nothing, runs nothing, creates nothing, and is responsible for nothing beyond their little slice of work, will always think more of themselves than their actual contribution warrants. Thats human nature.

And those with less will always want to take from those with more. That too is human nature.

In addition to everything that was said here how is this "protest" supposed to accomplish anything? Do they think the 1% will open thier windows and throw some money to them? In America everyone has an opertunity to get a piece of the pie. There are several ways to do it, work, luck (lottery, casino, etc), marry someone rich, but I have never heard of someone getting rich by standing around complaining. There might be a way to write a book about these tools though.

Robert Stephens, Oppressed Victim of Capitalism

The recent Day of Rage was a total flop, but it did allow self-styled Bolivian socialist Robert Stephens to make a name for himself. This video has spread his fame all the way to Iran:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZZ710w6GXI&feature=player_embedded

Robert Stephens graduated from Carleton College (average cost: $42,942/year) in 2010 and now studies law at The George Washington University Law School (average cost: $70,449/year). His father has a Ph.D. and two master’s degrees; his mother also has a master’s degree. Only in America could a kid have been blessed with so much… and only in America could he still claim to be a victim. America’s capitalist society has apparently leveled a grave injustice against his family and Robert will not stand for it.

If his parents couldn’t pay their mortgage, they were probably living in the Taj Mahal.

Yet again we see that the Left is almost as phony as it is malignant. Congrats to Robert on an auspicious start to a lucrative political career.

Actually, I wish I could spend my days that way, far more than I wish I had the millions
