I had that car, a '78 Trans Am, 6.2 liter IIRC, with honeycomb grill and rims. That car was badass! But marone, what a rattle trap.
I like it!! Never knew a car collector who specialized in mediocre cars.
I'm in the middle of restoring a 1975 Delta 88.

Super easy to get parts. Who the f*ck restores a Delta 88? I actually had a few people ask me that while looking for parts...lol
I like it!! Never knew a car collector who specialized in mediocre cars. Suckers usually waste their money on overpriced imports or antiques - you're onto something here, a real hampuresque strategy here.

I think I'm going to add to my collection. I currently have a 2010 Odyssey, which is probably mediocre enough , but let's do this right: I think I'll trade that in for a 2006 Ford Freestar, then go pick up a 2008 Chevy Malibu on the way home. What does the board think?

For those of you that are going to look for flaws that make the Malibu seem less than perfect (I know, weird tail lights), EAD.

An '06? Easy there, Rockerfeller. What you need is a mid-90s Windstar.

    Yup

completely shredded and useless...so unless I can get it replaced/repaired, it'll be for sunny days only, lol.

I love the interior of the car...it's got the old huge needle speedo, that's about a foot and a half wide. Has the heat controls on the left hand side. And has the hi/low beam control on the floor (wish cars nowadays had that still).
Sh1t won't even get you to the Shelta...
lolz :P

Second car I've had with a 455. So, it'll probably get 6 mpg...so I'll have to fill up twice on the trip to the shelta :D

Please. It's pwned by the 2002 Trans Am which can, of course, be had for under $20,000*.

And of course you find the nicest Delta 88 in existence to compare the Trans Am to. Not fair.

There's something to be said for the old land yachts. My first car was a 69 Chevy Caprice with hideaway headlights. I think I mustered up 12 mpg when I didn't constantly open up the secondaries. You think it would have gotten better mileage when it was half bond-o.

Some day I'll go get one of those early to mid 70's Caprice convertibles.
