I was waiting for that Oakland Raiders bit.... lmao.

And people wonder why there is such a disdain over the police.... completely unnecessary use of force like always.

The Raiders bit was great, although you could see JStew working up to it. :D

The Police in Oakland get a mulligan; they are severely overworked. Crowds in Oakland have proven time and again to breed flash riots and civil lawsuits. What they did was efficacious, but shrewd considering their resources. Hopefully it won't backfire on them.

The problem I have re the police and situations that indicate excess force up here in Canada is that the higher ups in the police organization never admit to excess or blame and spend all their time covering the offenders ass and their won.

Most police officers are terrific people and honorable but the cred of 'we will police ourselves' attitude of most police forces is not good and very frustrating.

Rubber bullet no doubt stung a bit, but not as much as I imagine the tear gas grenade going off within 5' of his head.

Hard to cast blame on any one other then the rock throwers.

The first amendment would lead me to believe the crowd had a rite to form.

The cops were ordered by higher ups to arm up with tear gas and rubber bullets, they were placed in an unenviable position.

That looked like a warzone. That was more than necessary.

I know. The grammar level on this site is deplorable. It should read, "as always". I hope my correction assuages your angst, Dimitri.

    Excessive force?

Do any of you know any of the people that were protesting in Oakland? If they're a sane friend, ask them if they thought what the police did was warranted. Ask them if during that time they were more scared of the police or of some of their fellow protesters.

That place had deteriorated into a continual crime screen. Not pooping on the grass crime, theft, violence and rape crimes. And then when forced to wrap it up, a group of these nuts tweeted their buds to come down with weapons to fight the police and organized a planned attack and riot.

You wanted those guys to use pepper spray maybe?

Campbell and one of the fast runners were injured. That USC QB, Leinart I think, is going to fix it all. They were foolish to not sign Maybin.
