    Going under the knife, *****es!!!!!

That's right, the hits keep on coming! This Monday I am having my right shoulder operated on for a work-related injury. Thankfully it is going to be done arthroscopically as the suspected damage isn't to sever (they hope), so I am hoping the rehab won't be as grueling as the reconstruction I had on my left shoulder ~16 years ago. Not at all looking forward to the anxiety and violent heaves post-op (I don't do well under general anesthesia). :(

Anyone have input on what my expectations should be for rehab?

I had major reconstructive surgery on my right shoulder back in 1998. The rehab was friggin' brutal.

Have had a few issues with it again recently but not bad. Doc thinks it might be a labrum tear. I just had one of the those MRI's with the dye in it and am going back to see the doc soon to find out if it's arthroscopic surgery or just rest.

Good luck with the surgery and you can tell me how the rehab is.

Don't let the doctors snow you, you can absolutely take pain killers and alcohol together. Seriously, I used to know a doctor.

Good luck on the recovery, bra.

Good luck with the surgery. I had arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder many years ago. Pretty simple. I never went to rehab and my shoulder is fine. I mean I can pop it in and out of the socket but you know, it happens...

Maybe you should go to rehab.

Good luck, JW. You should really stop arm wrestling the inmates.

Or maybe he got slammed in the shoulder with one of those folding chairs or metal cafeteria trays?

Good luck JW. Let me know how it goes? I go in Tuesday for an MRI on my right shoulder, rotator cuff, hopefully it can be done with physical therapy, and not surgery. I hear rehab is brutal.
