+1

Is the pepper spraying the worst thing in the world? Nope.
    Was it necessary? Probably not.
Is it now being used as a tool to rally support and gain leverage? Yep.

i wonder what we'd think of the pepper spray scene if it was out of china or syria

fun fact pepper spray is actually banned under chemical weapons treaty. so our enemies can't get sprayed but our citizens can

finally the reason why the pepper spray thing really took off is this guy's attitude. he's just so casual and bored about the whole situation.

now we have a new meme ... and it's hilarious

You forget that the students ignoring repeated lawful orders to disperse...is also on tape.

The only ones that will see a dime in this....are any cawps that are wrongfully fired by the school for doing what they were trained, and asked....to do.

You dont have to like it.

    :dunno:

No, you're not going to argue with me because you have no case. How can water boarding be considered torture and pepper spraying not?

    You have no answer...

Let me know when you hear someone is being peppered sprayed during an interrogation.

What does this have to do with the thread topic?

They should have come in packing joints and munchies. When everyone was crashed out on the lawn they carry them into a waiting van.

Authority is never respected authority is based on fear. Another clasic example of why.
Where this episode went wrong was trying to move a bunch of protesters from sitting across a foot path and camping in tents in the quad. The Horror of kids sitting around and hanging out! A brief study of American history will show you the best way for colleges to deal with this behavoir is to ignore it. In the past demonstrators have occupied (sit-ins) college buildings and were not treated so poorly. Usually after a week or two all of the kids get bored and go back to their dorms.

    This was just politically dumb.
This.

SRSLY? Blocking a footpath? Ignore it. If there's no cops, there's no TV, so there's no incident, so the kids go home.

The thread is about god damn protesters.

The video is about a guy that supports the god damn protesters.

Do you need me to draw you a picture with Microsoft paint...or were the two previous sentences enough for you to grasp the concept?

I'd think "meh, they're sure being lenient over there of late, compared to normal?"

Are you trying to equate U.S. Human Rights with China and Syria Bit?
You dont have to like it.
Huh?

:dunno: indeed, as I didn't express a like/dislike position on this one.
Where this episode went wrong was trying to move a bunch of protesters from sitting illegally blocking access to a public foot path and camping illegally in tents in the quad.
I sense a trend in how some view Laws.

Some seem to think "break um', don't enforce um', it's all no big deal, laws are made to be broken, man. Chillax!" would be the best way to run a legal system, a college, an immigration policy, a Country, a Foreign Policy, etc, etc, etc.....

    Exactly......what, exactly?

Whatsthe similarities you're trying to point out, exactly?

I think he's saying that the staged fake protest with three people just taking a picture for a minute in a weak attempt at irony never got pepper sprayed and he's mad about it?
