Where this episode went wrong was trying to move a bunch of protesters from sitting across a foot path and camping in tents in the quad. The Horror of kids sitting around and hanging out! A brief study of American history will show you the best way for colleges to deal with this behavoir is to ignore it. In the past demonstrators have occupied (sit-ins) college buildings and were not treated so poorly. Usually after a week or two all of the kids get bored and go back to their dorms.
This was just politically dumb.
SRSLY? Blocking a footpath? Ignore it. If there's no cops, there's no TV, so there's no incident, so the kids go home.
i wonder what we'd think of the pepper spray scene if it was out of china or syria
I'd think "meh, they're sure being lenient over there of late, compared to normal?"
Are you trying to equate U.S. Human Rights with China and Syria Bit?
You dont have to like it.
:dunno: indeed, as I didn't express a like/dislike position on this one.

I sense a trend in how some view Laws.
Some seem to think "break um', don't enforce um', it's all no big deal, laws are made to be broken, man. Chillax!" would be the best way to run a legal system, a college, an immigration policy, a Country, a Foreign Policy, etc, etc, etc.....
