    Rule 1 in the NFL

NEVER ever ever ever whine and complain about winning. It is snobbish, selfish and foolish.

    Who's rule is that?

The dumb things you do in wins come back to haunt the team later in losses. You can only get by with poor play for so long, this is still the same team that lost by 3 TDs at home to the Pats. Scraping by the Bills today didn't change that

I've heard many people say that there are no such thing as a bad win in the NFL, especially with the "any given sunday" motif.

Expecting every victory to be perfect makes one look like a snob.

Plus, this is how the Jets win. They never win pretty. Most of the time they win ugly. That's their M.O.

Since no one on this board is in the NFL, this rule does not apply.

    This.

And this is not whining. There is a difference between ignoring the fact that the team got a W and pointing out those flaws in the team that will keep them from going as far as we fans should want them to go.

The ultimate goal in the NFL is to win the Super Bowl, not win games here and there. It's going to take more than squeaking by the Bills - a win that doesn't take place if Stevie Johnson doesn't drop a perfect pass - for this team to get to the big game.

In 2009, before the playoff run, this would have been a great win. With raised expectations, this win doesn't excuse the team from criticism.

As long as the team and by extension their fans don't think that because of a win that everything is roses and sunshine. The Jets have a LOT of bad holes in this team in many areas. Be happy about a win? Yes. Next week look at the team and say all is well because we are 6-5 and still in the hunt, not okay.

Exactly. You can see that the Jets beat a bad team today that inflicted many of the wounds on itself. There are teams we will have to get by that will not make those mistakes.

The level of play has to improve

Uh....we're not winning the Super Bowl this year. We're just trying to make the playoffs right now. This was a huge win.

This goes back to no expectations. The NFL is too much of a crapshoot to have expectations of a SB. Week to week is the better way of thinking.

Where were the Green Bay Packers at this time last year?

The NFL is a crapshoot which means expectations are very hard to be met.

I didnt say everything was roses and sunshine. The Jets got lucky and won a game. But dont devalue the value of a win which is the only thing that matters.

Can't really agree with that - if this team is good enough to make the playoffs then they're good enough to make it to the Super Bowl. Just have to get hot at the right time, as we've seen 3 different #6-seeds do in the past 7 years.

That's why some of us are critical about the team's performance...you see glimpses of a "good enough" here and there, but the inconsistency on both sides of the ball are infuriating.

How can a Klingon report someone for calling him "childish?" What would Kahless say?

The inconsistency is the same as last year. Sure, maybe we get hot and spring an upset or 2 in the playoffs, but that bad half where we get crushed will rear its head. See Colts 2nd half and Steelers 1st half. When you're as inconsistent as we are, you can't go through 4 games without one of those.

I thought rule number one was, thou shall not question the great Goodell and any of his attempts to vault the patriots into the SuperBowl.

The thing is you are worried more about the next game rather than enjoying this game.

How did the Broncos feel after Elway got them down the field in 86.
"We shouldn't have won that game" "I dont feel good about this team going on"

    Ridiculous.

There are thing to complain about. Those should be saved for at least Tuesday. Now we should enjoy the win.

So now you're telling people how they should feel after a win. I understand not wanting to hear people ***** and moan, but that's not what's been happening here.
