As with The Shaggs, I've always been obsessed with bizarre musical artists like the late Klaus Nomi. His material is so bad it's, somehow, good. However, this selection is really terrible.

I'd rather have been a guest of Klaus Barbie's then listen to that.

Not closeted at all. I've said many times that I have embraced Klaus' music since "discovering" it in college. The insane take on opera/rock/kabuki is inspired genius, IMO. Bowie was a major fan as well.

Viva La Vida- Coldplay
Anything by Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday, etc.
Beautiful Day- U2
Anything by Trivium, Killswitch Engage, etc.
Post-2000 Green Day
Anything by Little Wayne
Don't Stop Believing- Journey
Living On A Prayer- Bon Jovi
Cold As Ice- Foreigner

Basically, I don't like overplayed songs, emo, metalcore, and Little Wayne.

The Shaggs are great outsider art, as are the "song-poems" of Rodd Keith.

My money is on the tragic tone-deaf Joe Meek who

a) made this bad Holly clone B-side (debut of Ritchie Blackmore-no sh!t)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goS0Si-QVHQ

b) Saw this

c) Imagined this sinister mashup...in his head

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L32Svqw5GSc

d) Then created this classic worldwide #1 (with lots of uncredited help)

Footnote: Meek took his life in a murder-suicide, in part because
millions in L royalties were withheld for years over a plagiarism charge:

In the early 80's Liza Minelli tried to update her image and her music to be more like the hip stuff all the kids were listening to. The results were impressive

FYI, I listed Viva La Vida by Coldplay as one of the worst songs ever. And, I'm a 22-year-old chick.
