New Story: Maybin Continues Causing 'Mayhem'

Florham Park, N.J. - In two years in Buffalo the first-round draft pick, Aaron Maybin, failed to record a sack. Through only eight games as a Jet, Maybin has already caused enough mayhem to earn him five sacks to go along with three forced fumbles. Whatever the reason for the change in production, Rex Ryan will happily take it.

Going back to the scouting reports on Maybin coming out of college, everyone agreed the kid had exceptional speed and length to cause all types of problems as a speed pass rusher in the NFL. Everyone also agreed that his lack of...

1 dimensional. Thats what is keeping him off the field. Speed rush, thats it. He needs a complimentary bookend to free him up more. I like the guy but he cant do it all by him self

Nice to see you jumping on board after dissing the guy before he even had a chance with us in the very beginning. Your guarantee has been proven all wrong but welcome to Mayhem Maybin's fan club!:D

Perhaps Ricky Sapp will be his partner.

The kid is not just doing it with speed. You see him get doubled team plus he is trying other passrushing moves.

This dude's got warp speed and a non-stop motor. He's made a big impact for the Jets despite the naysayers and scoffers. The Jets should lock him up for another few years while he's still cheap

have him be a gunner on specials as well. he's clearly able to get his share of sacks and that's w/o anyone else on the team as a 2nd pass rushing threat. imagine what he could do when the jets actually get other speed guys who can get to the qb.

LOL. There are posters who take a stand on an issue or a player here and when they're proven wrong, they can't man up and say...hey, maybe I was wrong about this guy. Instead, they either disappear (Sonny, who otherwise is a very good poster and I've always otherwise enjoyed his posts) or they come back with more venom towards the player and pick on any weaknesses, real or perceived, instead of praising his strengths (Indiana Jet).

So far Sapp hasn't been able to get any game reps this year. But I'm hoping that the Jets are willing to work and develop him in the offseason. He's around 250...so he has the potential to be more then a one dimensional speed rusher.

If Rex can scheme Maybin and Sapp to terrorize QBs...I've already got a name for this duo...

    Mayhem and the Sapp Exchange:D

I think it's safe to say that our pass rushing specialist is FAR better this year than last year (Jason Taylor). Maybin has matched Taylors sack total, exceeded his forced fumbles total and almost certainly exceeded his "pressures" total in far fewer snaps.

You must stop with all of this positive spin surrounding Aaron Maybin.

Maybin is a one trick pony. He has no guts and he has no heart. And Jason Taylor is much bigger and much stronger and, not to mention, much prettier.

Jets are lucky to have been able to re-sign him after Tannenbaum, in a Danny Woodhead-like bone-headed roster move, cut him earlier this season. Just glad nobody picked him up after that.

Yup.. bad year for Tanny, messed up with Braylon, and almost killed off our best rusher before he had a chance to see a snap.
