    DUMP

Westhoff picks players off the roster slim pickings. Ive been saying it for weeks this team lacks depth.

Ummmm....I didn't realize Westhoff was the one who couldn't catch a punt. I will look for that in the 2nd half. But thank you in advance for your astute analysis.

cant handle Washington, perhaps it is now safe to say we are a 500% team that will be watching the post season this year. The staff needs improvement, the front office needs improvement, the roster needs some depth, and the list goes on

Oh please.... For six years ****inheimer has led a lukewarm offense.

This year the jets have had some fumbles on kick and punt returns. And yet once again a JETS KR leads the league in avg return. The special teams has come through more then once this season. The offense is once again carried by the d and the st...

What are you schotty's bastard son...

Westhoff dials up the plays. He is not to be blamed for guys who cant catch the ball.

We forget Westy single handily delivered the Cowboy game.

Leonhard must return punts for rest of the year. Let Kerley focus on developing as a receiver.

Disagree. Westoff is a truly great ST coach. A pioneer of ST in many, many ways. He consistently takes chicken sh$t and makes chicken salad out of it. Most of the ST players that leave the NYJ find they are not as talented after leaving NY and Westoff's tutelage.

Westhoff is the best ST coach in the history of the league. By the numbers and from the respect he attracts from players and coaches around the league, it simply confirms it.

Westhoff doesn't coach his players to muff kicks. This is the most evident case of the adage: players play, coaches coach.

Westhoffs body of work speaks for itself, he is a sought after special teams guru who consistently has one of the best special teams unit in the league. Other coordinators who get chastised on this board have a mediocre body of work and produce consistent mediocrity.

Yet we continue to blame Schotty when Sanchez makes bad throws and decisions. When the o-line gets beat or jump offsides or when receivers can't get open and drop passes.

go ask Dallas fans about ST.

Yeah, this thread is pretty weak.

The way people talk about assistant coaches around here, makes you wonder why there's so much focus on drafting the right players and picking up the right FAs. Based on the thinking here, all you have to do is coach people any random scrub and they'll never make mistakes and play beyond their ability on each snap.

Based on the fact that Westoff has literally won several games for this team based on his schemes and is widely regarded as one of (if not the best) special teams coaches ever, you'd think he'd get a pass for an occasional long kickoff return. Guess not.

I'm surprised Schotty doesn't get blamed for not turning Mulligan into Gronkowski. "Mulligan's not being coached right!!"

    You are so right!!!!;)

We should fire Westoff and hire Schotty to do both jobs then......

Schotty isn't even considered one of the top ten OC in the league RIGHT NOW and you have the gall and the audacity to compare him to Westoff who just maybe the BEST STs coach in NFL history....

    Good Grief!!!

    Life is full of double-standards.

Westhoff has done more with less. Schotty has a garage full of Ferrari's (some vintage, lol).
