    Probably more likely that he's just stopped making catches.

    I could see it being a situation where sometime the Jets are down late in the game with like 20 seconds to go, Sanchez hits Holmes over the middle for a first down, the ref is waiting to spot the ball, Holmes does his first down celebration, by the time the ball gets spotted, time runs out.

    In the post game press conference, the a member of the media says to Santonio

    "Given the fact that time was running down, didn't it ever occur to you to hand the ball to the official, not do your first down celebration and get lined up as soon as possible in order to have enough time to spike the ball?"

    "Nope."

    Indeed. Thankfully (depending on your POV) he does not get to the QB nearly as much as he should.
