Thread: Revis was spectacular last week
No, it wasn't.

He played good coverage, but there were no INTs, no Pick-6's, no game changing plays.
His coverage caused deflection into Harris's hands for INT, could have saved the game.

Targeted 8 times, by a good QB, allowed one recpetion for 20 yards, and one for 11 that was on 3rd down and short of a first down. Broke up every other pass thrown his way, they weren't just bad passes.

Played the CB position almost as well as it could be played, and some people aren't satisfied.

Maybe so, but unfortunately he's just a CB and has a limited impact on the game.
Let's face it, great CB's don't win you championships.

so shutting down every wr he was on and causing an INT isn't spectacular?

some people will never be happy unless he runs back 3-4 pick 6's in a game

Actually, 1 pick 6 would have come in handy that game. He had his chance and dropped it.

Revis is a HOF talent, but keeping the team in the game is not good enough for a HOFer.

Earlier in the season Revis won ball games for the Jets. He hasn't come close to that at the end of the season and look where they're at.

The spectrum between a great CB and a bad one is so vast that it's not even worth mentioning the alternative, but why do fans make such statements?

Revis is a great CB, but simply a solid or good CB would have just as much an impact on the W-L column.
