I don't want to sound trollish. The Steelers got rid of him and took only a 5th rounder for a guy they drafted in the first round and was the SB MVP. Now he seems to be a problem with the Jets after signing a big contract.
Some teams do dumb things but I just don't see anyone that blind to take that kind of a risk on this player.
dead money - $12,000,000 plus
cap hit - $8,000,000 plus
trading him is not necessarily a TERRIBLE idea but to trade him for a franchise tagged D Jax is not only fiscally retarded it leaves us in the same position player wise as we started.
cutting him is out of the question.
it wouldn't be easy to trade him, nor is it something i want them to do, ya know the whole screen name thing for one
But you can't equate trading and cutting him as if the financial consequences are the same. But of course you didn't do that.
One malcontent for the other... Let's call the Eagles and see if they would do a straight up swap - Desean Jackson for Santonio Holmes... Let the Eagles franchise him and then make the move.. get the guy in here and work out a long term deal... I say with a change of scenery and a new contract, Desean pays dividends..
After watching Santonio quit on the team - he needs to be moved... 2 guys who wore out their welcome in a hurry... at least Desean is younger and gives us the downfield speed we need...
We trade a $50M contract to the Eagles for a guy without a contract- do the math!!!!!!!
