I'd love to see a comparison of what these looked like also under Bush first inaugaration to his last day and see what the percentages were there, it would at least give a clearer picture.

Did things go up faster, slower at the same rate?

Yeah...playing with numbers. Here's a chart of gas prices:

LMFAO at the drop from 10/2008 to 12/2008.

Also love how it was actually higher at one time ynder Bush...but the OP's chart left that part out. LOLpolitics :D

This is a stupid way of assessing a president, regardless of who is in office. Let me see what he promised before he was elected and what he delivered, or at least attempted to deliver that was consistent with his platform. My biggest complaint about Obama was that he spent three years waffling and watching from the sidelines after his big healthcare bill was compromised and then chewed down to a near skeleton by his rivals while he failed to protect it. Politifact does a good job of rating his accomplishments on this scale, so I'm not going to repeat it. Here's the link:

He promised us that if elected, energy costs would "skyrocket".

Mission accomplished.

his own energy secretary came out yesterday and stated that lower gas prices have never been a goal of the administration. Since the start of the Obama administration, oil land lease issuances are down 70%. Deep water drilling permits down 50%.

The administration talks out of two sides of their mouth on this issue. First they sat it takes 5+ years for production to begin once leases and permits are issues. Then they tout the fact that US oil production is at an historic high level and call it an Obama presidency accomplishment.

See how those two statements conflict. We are producing at a high level because the Bush admin pushed the leases and the permits. That is something the Obama admin is UNDOING yet they tout the current production as their accomplishment. It is a bizarro world.

This is what the guy is trying get re-elected on:

1. Mitt Romney is “too rich” to be president.
2. He killed Osama bin Laden.
3. Young people will vote for President Obama again because he is “cooler” than Romney.
4. He's fighting those evil meany Republicans and their “War on Women.”

None of them has anything to do with his record as president.

gas prices are pretty much going up and down in the same range as when bush was in office. why all this fuss? in fact, its cheaper here in the US by FAR compared to almost any other place in the world.

besides to be consistent with with ideology...shouldnt price be based on what people are willing to pay and never limited? its a free economy:rolleyes:

At present the United States produces just under 10 million barrels of
oil a day, and uses more than 19 million every day, so any additional
supply would change the price dynamic dramatically.
