Would have been an upgrade over Teixeira. Time will tell.

Amazing what an offseason injury to Victor Martinez can mean

Would have been a nice complement to that hefty 36 games Iron-man Ike Davis put in last year too.... though that 214 mil. prolly looks better tucked away in an off-shore account for the WIlpon grandkids for when they inherit the team.

That is a nice pick up though a lot more money and years than I thought he would get. How does Boras do it, I mean, was there really other big market teams in the mix?

I think it will be interesting to see what this means down the road and see how he takes to the occasional DH role, but Prince is a beast and will mash wherever he plays.

Mets were never in the game for him. Ike Davis will come back strong, but that is a discussion for another thread.

i think your forgetting about miguel cabrera playing first base for the tigers not prince fielder meaning it wouldnt be an occassional DH role it would be a permanant. So unless miggy plans on playing more 3rd base fielder wont play at all during interleague play in NL parks and if they do make the World Series there 200 million dollar man wont be hitting in NL parks, So to me it was a bad move

Ike really is an exciting player, I hope he does come back strong for the Mets.

Btw....when the "another thread" happens, will you post in it, or will you be dropping snark-bombs in Yankee threads instead?

I was under the impression that Cabrera would move.

That's a ton of money/years for a big fat 1b/dh. Good luck with that one, long term.

There are already reports of Miggy moving to 3b, just like when he was in Florida. Besides, do you honestly believe that for interleague they'll sit either one of them and play Brandon Inge?
