Bengals franchise tag K Mike Nugent

As per ROTOWORLD

Bengals assigned the franchise tag to K Mike Nugent.
The kicker franchise tag is estimated at $2.6 million to $2.7 million. Nugent, 30, nailed 33 of his 38 field goal attempts in 2011, good for a percentage of 86.8. He also had a stunning 36 touchbacks. Strong-legged and finally polished in terms of accuracy, Nugent recovered perfectly from a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus suffered in his kicking leg in November of 2010.

He'd still be younger than our backup QB. ;)

Every time I curse myself for being a Jets fan, I make myself feel better by thinking about how it would be so much worse to root for the Bengals.

Just wait till the Bengals are in a playoff game and he comes in late in the 4th for the win. He will fold like a house of cards.

He was good this year on a team with no expectations. We know how he kicks when the bright lights are on.

Well, he was drafted in the second round and now he's been franchise tagged, pretty impressive resume.

Adam Vinatieri is a rare hall of fame kicker. Mike Nugent is far from that. You should know that.

Nugent was garbage when here and it was good to get rid of him. That's often how kickers go in this league because their games are pure success or pure failure.
