    Seahawks Release Marcus Trufant

I have watched this guy closely over the years, and he is a leader in the locker room. IMO, he would be a upgrade over Cromartie and is a class guy. Personally I would love to see him join his brother with the Jets.

You can never have enough corners

Stockpile CB's now and load up on passrushers in the draft

    Having Isaiah can't hurt here...

Dont think Cro's contract is cuttable.

    Limited resources.

Lots of money at cb already.

Not sure if he would want to come in here and play the 4th corner role, but stranger things have happened.

    Instant upgrade over Strickland.

Truant is not even close to Cromartie ... Serious. ... What were you watching ?

agreed. also trufant hasn't been able to stay healthy in years, and is older. I'd take him as a nickel/dime back type though.

Play him at safety.......Similar to other talented CBs that move to safety later in their careers

Couldn't be ANY worse than garbage Eric Smith

I don't get why whenever ANY player is released, there's the inevitable "We should consider this guy..." thread.

Trufant is 31 and is not the same player he once was (which was never really that great). Not to mention the Jets have so many other needs than corner right now.

Tell me about it. It's how my "I hate the offseason" trademark was born. When you see threads about going after the Hines Wards and Chris Kemoeatus of the world, then you really know how bad the next several months are going to be around here.

He is still able to play at a high level, I have watched his play in person very often, not just in games, but practice as well.

He brings other intangibles such as leadership etc.

We are plenty good and young at corner (Marquise Cole is a guy I think deserves more snaps aswell)... what we need are safeties!!!

... unless you are planning to move him to safety ... how about we work on improving the following first:

RT, FS, SS, OLB, WR2, QB2

Cromartie >>>>>>>> Trufant at this stage of their careers. And who said that Cro was anything but a professional last year?

You think it was easy to be ignored by the Jets FO last offseason while they went after Nnamdi and then have to deal with every Jets fan complain about him because he isn't Revis, plus he gets picked on by every opposing QB because they all avoid Revis. Despite all of that he put together a very very good season.

Cromartie is one of the few spots on this roster that I am 100% confident in. If Trufant can play safety or rush the passer then I will listen.

    absolutely not.

The classy part I will not debate because I don't know the guy. But on the field, he's no where close to Cromartie.
