Pure 4-3 end. No.

Bad trade. That said, I was sure they'd dump both him and Mathis.
they franchised Mathis I think.

They're saying Freeney has a 19 million dollar cap number and is unwilling to restructure.
Why is it the Jets have to always inquire about getting aging, expensive veterans that are nearly done with their career?

Stay far away from this as possible.
Mario Williams is a much better alternative.
Sure. We can't afford either though so this is a moot point.
The Dolphins are going to be amazing next year. Besides Manning they'll be potentially adding Reggie Wayne, Jeff Saturday and now Dwight Freeney.

    Patriots are signing Mario Williams.

And meanwhile the Jets are signing Patrick Turner and picking up Hunter's option.

Pats will definitely not sign Williams, and I dont think Manning to the Fins is a slam dunk.

Why would Peyton want to play in the AFC east, when he could go to Arizona and win the division every year?

Arizona is my pick for where he goes.

You really think Bellicheck is going to give 20 million guaranteed to any non qb?

  10. #30
no he doesn't fit our system and is not built to play LB.

Why would the Pats not sign Mario Williams? They have too much cap room? He's exactly what their defense needs?

Peyton to Miami is not a slam dunk that's fair enough. I think he actually ends up in Tennesee or KC. That said if Miami does in fact get Peyton and NE gets Mario the Jets may be lucky to go 8-8 next season.

    If it's Mario Williams yes.

This isn't Adalius Thomas we're talking about here.

Jets would have the best defense in the entire NFL if they sign Mario Williams.

Do you think if would be worth $20 mil to automatically improve 4 players (2 CB's and 2 safeties)?

That's the impact Mario would have on the Pats secondary.

Its just not the Bellicheck style, I dont care how good a player is, the Pats arent giving 20-25 mill guaranteed to anyone other than Tom Brady.

I agree with you, just nothing that Bellicheck has ever done would suggest that they would offer up a top 5 money contract for a defensive player.
that's exactly where we've been finding guys like hunter ducasse... under rocks. let's start looking at those that are in top of the damn rock
I wouldn't exactly say Freeney is a hidden gem, just another part of looking at every scenario. Hunter I'll give you but Ducasse graded out as a second rounder .

Trading for the diva Randy Moss wasn't considered Belichick style either yet he still did it in 2007.

Just like the stock market, past performance is not indicative of future results.

I hope you are wrong on this as Williams would be a godsend to the Pats defense.
