Another example of Government interfering with private business!

ATLANTIC CITY — Since his early days of rock music, Bruce Springsteen has been a champion of the working man.

Now Gov. Chris Christie, who has tickets to see his 127th show when the Boss brings his Wrecking Ball tour to Philadelphia this Thursday, invited Springsteen to perform at Revel, Atlantic City’s newest casino, over Labor Day weekend to pay tribute to the working class.

"I think Labor Day weekend at Revel with Bruce Springsteen would be an incredible show of support by Bruce for his home state,’’ Christie said this morning at a press conference at the casino. "And to come down here on Labor Day weekend and to perform at Revel would be a real sign of support for those working men and women who’ve been put back to work.’’

The $2.4 billion project is scheduled to open unofficially next week, with its full rollout of posh and luxury Memorial Day weekend.

Christie took a brief tour of the resort this morning because he’ll be in Israel next week.

He said he hopes the upscale resort will spur other casinos in Atlantic City to modernize to attract more tourists to the region, which has been losing revenue to casinos in neighboring states.

Revel, Christie said, has what no other casino in the country has: a front row seat to the Atlantic Ocean and its "spectacular views.’’

Stalled two years ago because of a lack of financing, the 6.5 million-square-foot project resumed after a $250 million infusion from the state.

"I think Bruce, if he’s true to his lyrics, would love the fact that the state used taxpayer funds to invest in this place to create jobs for working men and women,’’ Christie said.

A Springsteen spokeswoman did not immediately comment.

Christie is comical, but he is a true Repub, he's given over 1 billion in subsidies to NJ businesses since he entered office. Wonder how many of them were big campaign donors?

I wonder how many of them went out of business like all of Obama's solar pals. Both sides should be ashamed for handing out tax payer money to businesses.

Helping to create business in the long run is a tough thing and it just goes to show you the GOP and the DEMS are one and the same.

Sorry Christie's total thus far is 1.7 billion.

1.7 billion is less than 6.5 billion last I checked...

That's how much money the Obama administration has given to start up, green energy companies...

Many of those companies are failing or have failed...

Yup, NJ is pretty close in size to the entire country too. wonder why NJ's unemployment rate is higher than the national average too?

Christie didn't just give to one industry.

Extrapolate Obama's numbers when you figure out how many different types of companies Christie gave to.

Use your noodle from time to time.

So you equate tax breaks to businesses spending their own money to cash out of pocket from the government to a business?

    Exactly my point.

And yet you seem to be equating Christie to Obama.

Is there ever any point in discussing issues in which people can't separate federal and state policy?
