My problem with Tebow is extremely simple. He had a ton of things go his way last year to give him his "success". It's no different than Vince Young's rookie season with the exception of the huge fanbase of the individual player as opposed to the team he plays for. Vince Young went to the probowl playing terribly mediocre to poorly at QB because the Titan's D was phenominal, thus he was a "winner". If those breaks that Tebow had last year didn't go his way we're not even talking about the kid anymore and he most certainly wouldn't be worth a 4th and 6th round pick. Sooner or later in the NFL a player's shortcomings are going to catch up to him, especially at QB. Tebow has a looooong way to go in becoming a well rounded QB. Right now I don't even like the prospect of him being the next man up if Sanchez gets hurt. But what I really don't like is the fact that we are going to continually disrupt the offensive flow trying to put him in up to 20 times a game.

You also have to acknowledge his huge fan following, religious or otherwise, that want to see him play. They don't care about Sanchez or the well being of the Jets. People talk about Sanchez having to man up (which honestly I think is way overplayed), but there are going to be Tebow chants going on all game, every game from day one. Every single mistake Sanchez makes is going to be grossly amplified. It blows my mind how Rex acknowledged that guaranteeing Super Bowls put undo stress on the offense because it amped up the opposing defense. He admitted that he did it from a defensive standpoint of representing the guys doing the hitting rather than the ones being hit. He says he's gonna back off after talking to Steve Young and Ladanian about it and seeing it from an offensive player's perspective. But then the team follows it up by making the one move that can possibly put more undue stress on a QB and offense as a whole by getting Tebow and dealing with the constant pressure of putting him in the game.

Bottom line I have little doubt that Tebow will be starting around mid season, and it won't necessarily be because Sanchez is playing poorly. I support Tebow as a player on the Jets the same way I would Vlad Ducasse. I hope he improves over time where he can make an impact, but I do not want to see him on the field right now.

FYI, $23 for a mani and pedi is a STEAL.

Not only will Tebow tear it up in the Jets offense, he's a good shopper!

You obviously come from sg3's school of debate. Maybe he'll share his Lego blocks with you.

    Dude. The sarcastic smiley?

Your short concise analogy was spot on, but don't criticize the Tebow trade lest you be accused of whining.

Honestly, you covered the issue pretty succinctly, and folks can agree or disagree with your rationale, which is fair.

But the Teboow crusade won't read it, they'll just denounce it as more whining.

Sorry, I took the smiley as a smirk as opposed to sarcasm. My bad.

Disrupt the offense? Did you see the offense last season?

Tim Tebow clearly knows how to impress his new boss ... cause the NY Jets QB went out and got himself a pedicure in L.A. this week.

TMZ obtained a pic of Tebow in the chair at MB Nails in West Hollywood on Tuesday ... moments before technicians went to town on his fingers and toesies.

Sources at the salon tell us Tebow was "VERY friendly" during his $23 mani/pedi treatment ... and dropped a HUGE tip at the end.

Manicured feet are important to pro athletes ... especially when they're playing for Rex Ryan.

    Real men get pedis.

It's like having a puppy at the beach or rolling a baby in a carriage in the park. Women are hopelessly attracted to it.

As long as your feet are somewhat pretty anyway.
