I can't understand why anyone would be opposed to bringing back a healthy Edwards.
At the right price, a healthy Braylon would be fine. But his health is a question and the kind of money he wants is not.

    It's not personal. It's business.

Who is going to be our #2? A rookie draft pick? I'd rather have Edwards who we know what he's capable of doing (assuming he will be 100%) and allow a rookie to develop his way into the #2 spot after a season or two with Edwards.
Preach it bro! These dude's need to hear it. A healthy Braylon is a no-brainer and a lethal complement to the O, deadly deep blocker not to mention the ideal scythe for the play-action harvest

Two things we don't know right now.

    1) his health status (could be an issue or it may not be an issue)
    2) his money demands (no evidence yet to even address that)

I think we can safely assume

    1) he's not healthy
    2) he won't be demanding much after his 2011 season.. especially if he couldn't garner much interest after a good 2010 season

I would like to enter "standard delusional WR perception of own worth" and "previous behavior" to the court as evidence.

I guess everyone has their own opinions.

Mine is that Edwards was one of the most all around productive WR's we've had on the Jets in a long time. He helped make Sanchez look better. I don't see how anyone could have a problem with his play while he was here.
I would say "can or will be".. Im not sure he's better at this current juncture.. BUT, I do agree with your general premise that Cotchery isn't a need for this team.

The Jets need vertical threats. Cotchery just doesn't fit our needs at this time
Agree on the first part.

As for vertical threats, it is a waste to get them if we don't improve the O-line. Sanchez doesn't have time to set on a 3 step drop. This line couldn't protect him long enough for anyone to get downfield.

If he wants to come here for the vets minimum, I'd do cartwheels.
