Chris Johnson DB will visit and possible trades.

As per ROTOWORLD

Free Agent CB Chris Johnson is scheduled to visit the Jets on Monday.
Released by Oakland in March, Johnson hasn't generated much interest on the open market. If signed by New York, he would provide depth behind Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie, and Kyle Wilson. Dealing with a hamstring injury and a family tragedy, the 33-year-old Johnson appeared in just one game after Week 3 last season.

Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter Apr 22 - 10:07 AMWayne Hunter - T - Jets The National Football Post would not be surprised to see the Jets "trade a player or two" in order to clear some cap space this week.
The Post thinks the Jets will trade "lower level players" in order to gain some flexibility during the draft. Wayne Hunter is currently penciled in as the team's starting right tackle, but Vladimir Ducasse is waiting in the wings. Due $2.45 million in 2012, the 30-year-old Hunter is a trade/release candidate.

Former Raiders cornerback Chris Johnson will visit the Jets Monday, according to ESPN.

Johnson is a free agent after being released by Oakland in March. He played in just four games last season. The eight-year veteran originally entered the league as a seventh-round pick by Green Bay and has spent the past five seasons in Oakland. Johnson's best season was 2009, when he started 15 games.

The Jets are set with their top three cornerbacks, Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie and Kyle Wilson, but they could stand to add depth. Marquice Cole signed with the Patriots in free agency, and Donald Strickland has not been re-signed.

Coach Rex Ryan likes to stockpile cornerbacks because the Jets' scheme uses many packages with multiple defensive backs.

I like Chris Johnson. I won't mind if the Jets sign him.

If the football Gods love us, someone would take Bart Scott or Wayne Hunter off our hands come Thursday.

Oakland Raiders cornerback Chris Johnson left the team Wednesday to be with his family in Texas after a shooting left his sister dead and his mother severely wounded.

Jennifer Johnson, 33, was shot and killed on Wednesday. Her mother, Della Johnson, was also wounded in the incident but is expected to survive.

Police arrested Jennifer's estranged boyfriend, 46-year-old Eugene Esters, for the crimes. He is charged with murder and attempted murder. Bail was set at $750,000.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports Esters and Johnson argued about their 2-year-old child, who was not at the scene. Homicide detectives say Esters lived with Johnson but had been asked to move out recently.

Chris Johnson had missed most of the 2011 season after getting an infection following sports hernia surgery during training camp. He returned to the lineup in last week's loss to the Miami Dolphins. Coaches expect him to return to the team in time for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

"It's really tough," Raiders coach Hue Jackson said. "He's handled it like any man, or any brother or son would, and he's doing a good job, and he'll get himself back here and ready to play."

Well if this is the case, then why did the Jets guarantee Hunter's salary for this year if they wanted to trade him? If they wanted him gone they could have cut him with no cap implications and would have an additional 2.5 million in cap space before they guaranteed him. I dont get this line of thinking, if this is true.

They also signed Drew Stanton and released him. No worries Woody has plans to raise concessions to recop his losses. Or you just might see him walking around canning or selling poppy flowers.

if Vlad is the starter then Sanchez is a dead man walking. He might as well ask Tebow to start in place of him.

I always thought Raiders should have tried Chris Johnson at Fs. I thought he could have made a great Fs. The problems he had at CB(double moves) wouldn't be so prevalent at safety. He has very good speed and is very reliable tackler.

I know but a 40 yr old back-up QB isn't trying to cover a WR or tackle a RB.

So you are telling us that you have more experience at judging OL talent then T, Rex and Sparano. Please call Woody immediately and apply for the OL job. We must hire someone like you with all that experience.

Johnson's always been really fast. Even if he's lost a step or two, he'd still be more than fast enough to keep up with the vast majority of receivers.

So we are going to make lower level trades now to clear even more cap space even though we've had caps space since last year and haven't used it? I am very confused. The good free agents are signed. While it is possible that one could shake loose after the draft, i doubt a "good" free agent will. Mike Wallace and Asante Samuel are the only prominent names I can think of possibly on the trading block.

Unless we have some trade in the works already, I don't get it. Are we turning into the post-Madoff Mets?
