Wait. What???

We drafted players from the following college football programs.

North Carolina
Georgia Tech
Arkansas State
Wake Forest
Baylor
Baylor again.
South Carolina
Western Michigan

Isn't true that the most talented college football players mostly go to programs better known for football than basketball?

I'm no draft expert, but if pedigree counts for anything, this draft has disaster written all over it.

Are you for real? Good players from the SEC get drafted early. In the mid to late rounds you have a better chance of getting a diamond in the rough from a lesser-known program.

And what does basketball have to do with it?

Check your history....the ACC has had a pretty good record of producing NFL studs. SC is the SEC.......

Baylor plays big time football. You're pissed because we have no Hampton, Temple, UMASS or Boise State?

Agreed, guys like Andrew Luck and RG3 have no shot at success because they don't have great football histories.

There are plenty of impact players from smaller schools and non-power conferences. Just take a look at some of the 2011 NFL leaders in several categories:

Sacks:
Jared Allen (22) -- Idaho State
DeMarcus Ware (19.5) -- Troy
Jason Babin -- (18) Western Michigan
Jason Pierre Paul (16.5) -- South Florida

Receptions:
Wes Welker (122) -- Texas Tech
Roddy White (100) -- UAB
Jimmy Graham (99) -- Miami
Calvin Johnson (96) -- Georgia Tech

Rushing Yards:
Maurice Jones-Drew (1,606) -- UCLA
Ray Rice (1,364) -- Rutgers
Michael Turner (1,340) -- Northern Illinois
LeSean McCoy (1,309) -- Pitt

Tackles
London Fletcher (166) -- John Carroll
D'Qwell Jackson (158) -- Maryland
Chad Greenway (154) -- Iowa
Pat Angerer (148) -- Iowa

Interceptions
Arrington (7) -- Hofstra
Weddle (7) -- Utah
Woodson (7) -- Michigan

This was a weird draft in general.

Florida didn't have a kid drafted until Round 4.
Florida State didn't have a kid drafted until Round 4.
Miami didn't have a kid drafted until Round 3 (2 of them actually).
Michigan didn't have a kid drafted until Round 3.
Ohio State had a 2nd rounder and 3rd rounder.
Oklahoma had a 2nd rounder and 2 3rd rounders
Texas didn't have a kid selected until Round 4.
USC had a total of 3 kids selected, 2 being 1st rounders though.

That's 8 "traditional" powerhouses, provided a total of 2 first round picks, 2 2nd round picks, and 6 3rd round picks.

For pretty much every major program, it was a down year in that regard. I think it's the result of seeing a lot more parity in college football.

Boise State had 6 players drafted, including 2 first rounders. They had a better haul this year then USC.

Baylor had 5 players drafted, including another 2 first rounders. They had a better haul then Oklahoma.

Illinois had 2 first round picks and 2 second round picks. They had a better haul then Ohio State and Michigan....combined.

South Carolina had 6 kids selected, including 2 first rounders and a 2nd rounder. Well, you catch my drift.

Obviously this thread was started as a joke!!!!

It is NOT meant to be takin seriously......

Traitor has been posting to long and well for this to be anything more than an attempt to get a rise out out of the rest of us......

Have any of you examined the link between a drafted player's NFL success and the quality of his high school's badminton program? Hmmm? Anyone?

If not, you should. The correlation is startling.
