I don't think I've ever been as excited for a Jets pick as I am for Demario Davis

The more I learn about this kid the more amazed I am that he didn't go in the top 10 of the draft (I'm dead serious).

From a physical/athleticism standpoint this guy is the prototype (more on that below).

But he's not just an athlete. He was the unquestioned leader of his defense. He's a great guy who LOVES football. According to Tony, the guy was reading a 500 page novel on the plane to the senior bowl.

Compare him to Patrick Willis coming out of college.

Willis/Davis

Height: 6'1/6'2
Weight: 242/235

40 yard dash: 4.51/4.53
20 yard shuttle: 4.37/4.28
Vertical jump: 39/38.5
Bench press: 22/32

He overshoots a lot of plays and still cannot cover tight ends. Not to downplay the kid but he's not a first round talent.

IMO he is more Jonathan Vilma than Patrick Willis.

I also like the pick.

Can you compare him to Bart?

I give the Jets an A+++ for this pick.

He's obviously a first round talent. He might be a little raw in terms of his playing style, but the guy has everything you look for from a potential standpoint. If he went to Arkansas instead of Arkansas State he'd easily be a first rounder.

Was the book in eReader format?

If he turns out to be like Patrick Willis that would be great! Its about time we drafted a late round beast.

If I'm not mistaken, at least one of the Harry Potter books was more than 500 pages. Just sayin.

Lets not over rate the pick. I do like the pick he was rated as a 3rd round pick and that where he got drafted. That said I like him as a third round pick.

The Patriots too for getting Tavon Wilson in the 2nd round

Not to derail the thread, but I can't possibly be more excited than the chance that Coples can play a role in bringing the SACK EXCHANGE (circa 2012) back . . .

I'm not overrating anything. I personally love the pick. Steals are drafted every year. When this guy is an all pro in a couple of years no one will care that he was drafted in the third round.

Now that you mention it, I'm surprised Tavon Wilson wasn't a top 10 pick.

Ed Reed/Tavon Wilson

Height: 5'11/6'0
Weight: 201/205

40 time: 4.57/4.52
Vertical jump: 33/32

Patrick Willis is considered the gold standard form a physical standpoint. Ed Reed's measurable were average at best...Stop being a douche.

I'm most excited by the legitimate prospect of seeing Q, Mo, Davis and Mayhem ALL meeting at Tom Brady about 7 times in each of two meetings this season and maybe even breaking him in half

I thought that was the motivation for selecting him - his ability to be effective in coverage ?
