Will the Jets give Coples #90?

Not sure if this has been discussed or not.

Coples wore #90 in college but with it being unused since Byrd, is there any chance that the Jets would give the number to him?

I'd tend to think no but I could see it happening with Byrd's blessing.

I don't think so. Should never be used again, imo...

    Of course they will.

Rex Ryan is famous for doing the wrong thing while thinking it's right.

It's late, a few tall cold ones. O well, youth is wasted on the young. Good night.

If they are not going to retire the number ... I say give it to him and let his play honor Byrd.

I too asked this the night of the draft in the chat room. Im guessing they will ask Byrds permission and probably issue him #90,maybe as a tribute to Byrd.

90,80,28 not retired and I belive un-issued since the respective players wore those numbers.

Exactly. I'd have no problem if they retired Byrd's number, but if they're not going to, give it to a guy who can hopefully do it proud.

    If I were him I wouldn't want 90.
