Summer Movie List 2012 is out

What do you (other than Ruby, because he hates everything) think? Any others you are (or are not) anticipating?:

Avengers (I might be there first night)

    Dark Shadows (looks stupid)

Dictator (I'm hot and cold on SBC)

    Battleship (could be awful)

    Men in Black 3 (really?)

Snow White and the Huntsman (Theron isn't enough for me to watch this)

    Prometheous (Alien prequel-oh yeah)

The Big Picture (Andy Samberg and Adam Sandler-could be awful, but I'll probably rent it)

    Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (intriguing)

    GI Joe: Retaliation (ooof)

Amazing Spiderman (a franchise reboot, thank the Lord no Kirsten Dunst, I'll see it)

Savages (Travolta, Del Toro, Salma Hayek, Blake Lively and Oliver Stone? Mexico drug deals? Could be good))

    Ted (no interest)

The Dark Knight Rises (will be there first night)

Neighborhood Watch (Stiller, Vince Vaugh, could be monumentally bad, or good-hoping for Dodge Ball effort)

Bourne Legacy (reboot with Jeremy Renner, looks good)

Total Recall (dark remake with Colin Farrell-my most anticipated of the summer)

The Campaign (Will Ferrell and Zach Galifinanakis-anyone else sick of this guy?)

Hope Springs (Tommy Lee Jones and Meryl Streep--shoot me)

Premium Rush (Joseph Gordon Levitt is pretty good, interesting caper movie but set on messenger bikes?)

Lawless (love Guy Pearce and Gary Oldham, but Shia LaBeouf?)

Get the Gringo (looks kind of like a sequel to Payback, one of my favorite Mel Gibson movies)

Safety Not Guaranteed (could be time travel flick, looks quirky funny, with Pete from “The League”)

    The Expendables (Stallone kills it!)

My list of must sees above, GI Joe included because I was obsessed as a kid and can't resist... Probably more of a DVD worthy movie but worth it to me...

    Very interested in Savages!

I love Bruce Willis, but his cameo in that looks just silly.

Having said that, I'll rent it

Prometheus got changed up its not technically an Alien prequel anymore but its in the same universe and before the events of Alien according to director Ridley Scott. I'm confused how a movie in the same universe and before Alien isn't a prequel but Scott said its meant to be in the same class as Alien but exploring different ideas and mythologies. Either way it looks awesome

I didn't see Expendables 2 on the list...which outside of Batman is the only action movie I'd get out to see.

Just not into the comic book crutch that hollywood is leaning on...

Say what you want about Stallone, but the last Rambo and 1st Expendables movie were $.

Apologies--I thought that was The Incredibles 2 and I wasn't putting cartoons on my list

Just edited the list to include E2.

I'm a sucker for those Stallone type movies, I also liked The Losers along the same lines.

Saw this the other day out here. Not too bad for a comic book film: worth seeing with some nice comic moments (especially involving The Hulk) but the next time I'll see it will be on DVD.

Edit: also has some actual acting in it, Ruffalo makes a great Bruce Banner and Scarlett Johannson is excellent in that vein. Loki is also very good as the bad dude.

    Excited to see in theatres

    Avengers
    Prometheus

Loved Total Recall back in the day, so with modern Fx should be really good.

I know Warfish is excited to see the Total Recall redo.

    After all, he likes Dick.

Remaking Total Recall just seems like a horrible idea to me. I think they should of done a sequel or something else. Not remake an Arnold movie.

    Prometheus- Can't miss, for anyone

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter- Stokes hit the nail on the head; intriguing

The Amazing Spiderman- Can't miss for me II

The Dark Knight Rises- Can't miss, for anyone II

Bourne Legacy- Might wait for DVD

Total Recall- Like Fish, love me some Dick

Safety Not Guaranteed- loved the premise and trailer, will wait and see.
