    My favorite player EVER...

    WAYNE CHREBET

I remember my dad going crazy as we watched this

Keyshawn was sooooo inferior towards Wayne.

Props to Martin, too, for launching that duck just in time.

Love it!! Never gets old The crap Meshawn talked that week was uncalled for and rooted in jealousy.....pure and simple. Meshawn even tried to play the race card. lost all respect for him....the look on his face was priceless!!!

Curtis was the greatest QB in football history. Every pass he ever threw was a TD.

Damn, I miss Vinny T. We didn't have him very long, but it was really the first time in a long time we had a QB that could do it all.

Sooth and a few guys were at my house for that game...my neighbor two houses down says he heard us after that catch.

Sooth and I and a bunch of guys also got a limo and traveled to Baltimore for the Christmas Eve game a couple weeks later....not so good for the Jets that day.

That's true but Vinny had the most unique talent that I've ever seen on the football field: He couuld make refs think his helmet was a football. So on a sneak at the goal line with just a few seconds left in the game, only his helmet had to cross the plane.

    Now that's special!

He was our Welker, before welker.

This is what this team needs. Someone who will play lights out and is all heart. This team has some talent, now lets see if there is any of this in them.

You laugh, but I remember a huge play he made in Indianapolis where he scrambled 10 yards down field and then lateraled to Curtis Martin who picked up more yardage. That was a game winning drive. I believe he threw a TD pass to Anthony Becht to cap the comeback.

Vinny had a lot of flaws, but he was money in the 4th quarter for us.

    Remember Groh's pre-game speech?
I think he gave everyone flashlights and had them shine all at once.
    In reference to Meshawn's "I'm a star, Chrebet's a flashlight" rant.
That started the green Lantern nickname too.

Didn't Alstott fumble right before that drive when they were running out the clock?

BTW-regardless of my love for Wayne and dislike for Key, we were a better team with them both.

They should make a movie about Wayne Chrebet, ala Rudy, and have that winning catch as the climax to the film.....

    I said climax.....:D

The criticisms against Vinny are valid, but when he was on he was nearly unstoppable. He was my favorite Jet. I still wear an authentic Testaverde jersey to games.
