I don't want any fan of another team knocking what we're doing, especially from an HBO special. So much stupidity came out of that.

Rex seems more focused this year. More so than any other year.

Another example of the incompetence of that joke of a front office and Rex-com-poop. If he was a real man and a serious coach like Tom Coughlin or Bill Bellichik, he would have shown us all how he can command a ship. Instead, he's hiding in the shadows. Dispicable.

Just wanted to see how it feels to find a dark cloud in every silver lining. It's kinda fun...

I never bought into the idea that Hard Knocks hurt the Jets in 2010, they started 5-1 and 9-2, and made the AFC Championship game.

Didn't hurt, just brought unneeded attention to them.

But that was a different team than this team. We had a plethora of veteran leadership in 2010.

The 2012 Jets are a little fragile and in transition. New leaders need to emerge. I think Hard Knocks would have an adverse effect on the 2012 Jets. All things considered.

I was kinda looking forward to seeing if Cro still could name all of his kids

Seriously, I'm glad the Jets are not going to be a part of the show this season. Loved it when they were on, but it's time to get down to serious football.

Well at least there's still hope for next season.

The team is open to future participation, the source said.

I can see a future where Hard Knocks is a show that airs weekly on the NFLN during the Preseason. They'd do 4-6 teams per year in a rotation. No option to say no, but it wouldn't be quite as intrusive as it is now.

    Professional sports are entertainment.

Glad to see it's official, one less media distraction.

If the Jets get back on track this year and make the playoffs then I will have no problem with Hard Knocks for next year.

New leaders need to emerge. The QB must become a leader. It is a leadership position. But the play has to back it up otherwise the words will mean nothing And I would like one of the younger offensive linemen to become a leader. I think it will be Slauson.

On defense hopefully Leonhard is able to come back. I think we are OK with him and Pouha. The defensive guys seem to get along and play well.

If they do these things then I will be fine with Hard Knocks. But IMO the team is in a bit of a transition now and is a kittle fragile psychologically.

It would have been the wrong time since Sparano is installing a new offensive system...

Very good news. A big TY to Rex and Tannenbaum and probably Sparano and maybe "the Indian dude" for forcing the team to focus on football.

Wouldn't mind a future Jets team being on it, right after we win the SB. So, 1969. I'll check the HBO.com archives.

Hallelujah! I was very nervous about this situation. I thought maybe Rex was saying he didn't want it just to put up a front. This shows me he is serious about fixing our team chemistry.

I agree that it didn't hurt them in 2010, but this is a different year, different team and different circumstances. I think turning it down is the right move for this team, this year.

+1. I want to see it too, but it's probably better for the team to not have the cameras and added scrutiny.
