I was a child of the 70s, and these were all shows that my grandparents watched. They would put on Lawrence Welk, it it was like a death sentence to me.
not Lawrence Welk, I would not watch that...basically they were crappy shows that were a ton better than today's crappy shows is what I guess I'm trying to say.

    Thats Rocky, the Dad!

Banecek was the dude from the A-team, George Peppard.

Somewhere Ham is creating a new user id so that he can add 17 posts about Crystal Gayle before he is banned again.

With shows like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Wire, The Sopranos, Rome, Boardwalk Empire, etc I couldn't disagree more.

There is tons of crap out there, but that is only because there are 300 channels. Back in the day you had 3 networks with original programming and the best they could do was almost always terrible in comparison.

I like Discovery ID, NatGEO, TruTV (which Charles Barclay described as "BET for White People", and a few of the dramas on AMC (Walking Dead, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and the Killing). I'm also a sucker for all the paranormal shows, like the Haunted, a Haunting, and Fact or Faked.
Love that show. I wish there were more shows on TV like it.

The show I miss the most is Law & Order. SVU is good, but nothing beat the original.

Half of them sure, but there are so many current shows that are really well done. Best thing is that since you haven't seen any of them, you can have endless dvd marathons, best way to watch shows.

I'm telling you, rent these shows, give them all a fair (half a season at least) shot:

Mad Men (you'l love it and be hooked)
    Breaking Bad
    Boardwalk Empire
    Justified
    The Killing
    Walking Dead
    Curb Your Enthusiasm

If you grew up during the era, the proper way to refer to her was Booby Benton
