If I was a Mod I would end this thread right here. Fish you remain the Master Baiter. Blitz we get it. You prefer UK and Russia's antiquated low quality medical systems. Good luck finding others to go along with that.

Fish, lets grab a beer and talk **** about Obama. Blitz, Kenyo called and they are having a meeting of the Socialist Party of America at his house. He's like you to be there.
Indeed. Some dasy it's simplynot worth the time and effort.

Oh, and Lefty, er, Safety.....I much prefer you in THIS picture. It suits you so much better, so much more expressive in my view.
Germany, UK and Canada - that's what I said.

Jesus f***ing christ, every description has to mention The Soviet Union or Russia.

Do you see why that might piss one off?
Actually, yes, I could see how facing the reality of basically being a Soviet socialist would make me have some inner turmoil too.

You should ask some folks in Canada or the UK about their health system. I have. Long waits at doctors offices. Weeks or months to schedule tests. It is not a system I would look to emulate. When a loved one is sick you want the best medical system in the world caring for them.

Are English, Soviets? How about the Germans? Canadians too?

Can we stop with the Soviet comparison?

It's the worst kind of political rhetoric.

What about the British parliament guy that said businesses should send all checks to the government and they would send you the amount they thought you should be paid? Is that really that far off?

As for "insurance" how many citizens in America actually aren't covered? If you are illegal without insurance you will still get better care here than you would have in your third world cess pool you ran from. As for those of us without insurance they are mostly young people that are willing to roll the dice or rich people that don't need someone else to pay their bills.

Everyone is covered to some extent. Medicare, Medicaid, SSI, etc, it isn't anywhere near as bad as you make it out to be.

Insurance, especially government run insurance, DRIVES UP PRICES. The amount of corruption and fraud that is perpetrated against the government programs is amazing. Add to it that people cdon't care how much something costs when they don't pay for it and it removes the incentive to keep prices low. There is NO competition.

Look at medicare and medicaid. You trust your health to the people that ran those programs into the ground? Seriously?

Meanwhile the US still leads the world in actual health care. Not numbers that WHO skews by throwing in a modifier for socialized health care that drops us into the lower percentiles. Not the numbers that pit our National Health Care system against countries the size of a small NJ town that can be serviced by 1 hospital.

In New Youk you dont need insurance. I had an employee with parents from Jamaica. When one got very sick they flew in to JFK and went straight to North Shore LIJ. At the admission they asked if she had insurance or was a citizen. When she said no they had a special admissions room where she was issued a health card. All free by the way. No insurance no problem.

Reality is a *****! Poor bleeding hearts that try to use these excuses to force us to pay to even more hate hearing things like this.

Queue the, "That is just an anecdote. I won't believe it until you post pictures of the patient and a scan of his health card" comments.

He's a perfect example of how History, written in many cases by Collectivists and Collectivist Sympathetic Professors, paints a picture that suits....shockingly.....Collectivists, Socialists and Communists.

He's not even close to the demon the collectivists make him out to be. But of course, I wouldn't expect a Collectivist to see it that way, after all, he was trying to root out Anti-American, Anti-Capitalist Unsurgent Communists at a time when we were engaged in a Cold War with those Communists.

Did he go too far? Perhaps.

But then again, if that alone were a sin, every Euro-Style Welfare State Collectivist and every Labor Union Leader would be equally demonized, as both took needed, vital, valid and important thinks (Social Safety Net, Protection fo workers) and went far too far too.

McCarthy started with sincere intentions; he thought was doing something that was good for America but became out of control and vindictive. In reality he was the public face for a dangerous far-right agenda. He was being used.

A man who worships at the corrupt and vile alter of the Kennedy Family, and orally fellatiated John Edwards more than any person I know, supports Labor Unions endlessly, loves the idea of Redistribution of wealth on a large scale, claims to hate money in politics and biased media, yet only ever sees that on the right and on FOX news?

Yep, I'm going to take your view of a strident Anti-Communist seriously.

Predictable replies are predictable. Anyone right, evil facist. Anyone left, kindhearted fairminded people, totally not communist, socialist or collectivist at all, really, who just want fairness and economic justice, and really, only a right-wing facist would be against that....right?;)

Absolutely and unequivocally. And infinitely moreso than Obama.

When you get sick in a foreign country what will you do?

I would be a responsible adult, purchase travelers insurance. Then if necessary. pay out of pocket for basic care then get my ass on a plane and get back to the best healthcare system in the world. When I got back home I would contact my insurance company and try to get reimbursed for my expenses.

I certainly wouldn't travel there and take a cab direct from the airport to the hospital because I heard through friends and neighbors that the suckers there give non-citizens free medical coverage. That mainly happens here.

I don't know whom you speak of, but the whole of the UK should be represented by one member of Parliament saying something stupid? Should people make up their minds about our country listening to a random member of the House of Representatives? I think not.

17.1% uninsured. Germany is not the size of a small NJ town.

    History, professors and collectivist scum?
His primary achievement has been in confusing the public mind, as between the internal and the external threats of Communism. We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law. We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men ... We proclaim ourselves, as indeed we are, the defenders of freedom, wherever it continues to exist in the world, but we cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home. The actions of the junior Senator from Wisconsin have caused alarm and dismay amongst our allies abroad, and given considerable comfort to our enemies. And whose fault is that? Not really his. He didn't create this situation of fear; he merely exploited it—and rather successfully.
Everybody loved McCarthy in his day, right?
History, professors and collectivist scum?
Not exactly.

But I don't expect to have a rational debate with someone such as yourself about a ragingly aggressive Anti-Collectivist that operated during the Cold War. Same as I don't expect a rational debate about media bias from someone who takes every word teh LA Times says as pure fact, source and sight unseen, ignoring bias, incoplete and omission-ridden reporting, and the like throughout our modern media.

I have no doubt in my mind, that if I went to say, any random Occupy, Democrat Party or DailyKOS/Netroots gathering, and asked "who was worse? Joe Stalin, or Joe McCarthy?" the percentages who replied McCarthy would be higher than thise who say Stalin.

Fact is, what McCarthy feared during the Cold War, many on today's left (IMO) would find tame. There is a meaningul portion of the left who want more collectivism, more socialism, more communism, i.e. More State Power in all Forms, in our Federal policy.

In 50 years, Represenative King (I think it was King) will be the enxt McCarthy, for his hearings on Islam.

And everyone will still think Iran Contra was horrible, but no one will remember wht Fast a& Furious was......

    :dunno:
