There are several wandering cats in our neighborhood -- don't know if they're strays or people let their cats out. Well, they get into our back yard even though we have a fence around it, nothing stops cats.
They sit/lie on our back porch or stare in our back door. Scare the crap out of me when I'm half asleep and come into the kitchen and see this hairy face staring at me through the glass.
I think they're here for the birds on the bird feeder. Though I did see one cat stalk something in our back ivy. Then he pounced and grabbed something in his teeth. Proudly walked through the yard and over the fence with a long snake curling around his face and head. Yuck!
Are you kidding me??? Dogs are even worse than cats. Hell, the only reason to own a cat is to get out of owning a dog.
We always had dogs when i was a kid. I love them. When I got married, I wanted to get a dog. But my wife and I both worked long days far from home. There's no way a puppy is going to stay locked up in the house without accidents happening. So a dog was out of the question.
But I missed not having a dog waiting to greet me when i got home.
My wife eventually convinced me to get a cat. She had them growing up and loved them. Plus they're way easier to take care of than a dog. So we got one, and I'm glad we did. When I walk through the door, there he is to greet me. We've gotten a second on since, and both are awesome. I never thought I'd love having cats, but I do.
