The Jets are a mediocre 8-8 football team who improved less than any other team in the AFCE.

Yet you still see them winning 12 or 13 games?
Come on, don't forget about the Dolphins, who "improved" by getting rid of their best offensive player and one of the best WRs in the game and replacing him with Ochocinco. Oh, and they drafted a crappy QB with a hot wife.

The Jets are a mediocre 8-8 football team that improved less than two of the other teams in the division. They won't win 12 or 13 games.

How often does the super bowl loser make the playoffs the next year?
How often does an 8-8 team make the playoffs the next year? What happenend the last time the Pats lost?
How simple minded is it to predict the next season based on what the teams did the year before anyway?
Congratulations on winning the off season this year btw. We all know how important you consider that feat.
Brady should look stunning with his new fauxhawk as he sits home watching the Jets in the playoffs

Two years ago they won 11 games, how is it not possible for them to win 12 this year?
I'm only gonna say this one time .. Because I hate to admit it. The Pats D is VASTLY underrated. Most of the yardage against them come in garbage time when teams are trying to catch up and they are in an almost prevent mode.
And why did they get those leads? Certainly not because of the defense.

The Patriots defense from 2009-2011 has only been as good as the Patriots offense. When the offense doesn't put a stranglehold on the opponent in the first 30 minutes, their defense gets exposed.

Does the Pats defense suck? I wouldn't go as far as saying that. Especially last year, the thing they did best was red zone defense. Something as small as that goes a long way in the outcome of a game. That being said, I think they have an overall below average defense but not bottom of the barrel. And it certainly pales in comparison to the 2001-2007 Pats defenses.

    Are you blind or dumb?

Last year the Jets finished 8-8, lost their last 3 games in a row with the playoffs on the line, have an offense with zero playmakers and a QB who is consistently ranked in the bottom 3rd of the league.

The roster they had 2 years ago was much better than the Jets roster heading into 2012.

The Jets have absolutely no chance at winning 12 or 13 games.

Go have another glass of green kool aid.

I wouldn't say no chance, but you are right. The Ryan era for all intent and purposes begins this year. The past couple of years were his virgin break in process, Woody getting names to sell seats, and backing into the playoffs reflected a better team then they were, they were ok. Ryan's future is in the hands of one guy, that's Sanchez and what Rex can build around him. I still believe that if he gets the right group in front, and around Sanchez 3/4 guys they can make a run at anything. The window isn't open because we have not built the house.

I haven't read all the posts here, but one thing I've observed as a difference between the Pats and Jets is this: The Pats RARELY lose to a team that they should beat (Cleveland in 2010 and Buff. last year would be examples of once-a-season upsets), while the Jets, as we all know so painfully well, can stub their toe at any given moment, home or away, against anybody. This has always been the difference between the 2 teams, and until the Jets can consistently take care of business against the bottom feeders, as well as their own division opponents Bills and Fish, they will not catch up to the Pats as presently constituted.

Tx being negative on the Jets. I haven't seen this 50 bajillion times already.

Must be an exciting life for a supposed Pats fan having 100,000 posts on a Jets messageboard.

You're right. The Jets winning 12 games next year would violate the laws of physics. Stephen Hawking stated that.

Not being negative at all, just realistic.

The current Jets are not a 12 or 13 win football team.

Most national publications, and even Vegas, have the Jets at a 6-8 win football team.

Yay, more trolling, more personal attacks...

The young core of the roster of 2 years ago is the same, there is only more talent on it now compared to 2009-10.

To state Jets have no chance, is pure BULL****.

Sorry but that is not true. While indeed the roster may not be as good as two years ago, it is way better than last year, and it seems we actually have a competent human being calling the offensive plays.

    11-12 wins, is not impossible.

Everything depends on how much the draft picks improve the Jets.

Even if the Patriots didn't improve, the Jets need some picks to step up and the offense to click in order to win the division.

I do think the Pats improved but you never know and injuries are the great equalizer.

I also think Buffalo is a troublemaker and Miami is still wallowing in the dark.

Everything being the same, the Pats don't need the rookies to step up. The Jets do. If the Jets want to win the division, there had better be some studs in this year's draft and a better offense.

Can the Jets win the division...yes. It's a longer shot than the Pats though...assuming no major injuries...The Pats have more room to miss on some picks or to have slower developers than the Jets do though.
