I was thinking the same thing with the following thought of "I guess its too pedestrian a discussion about watches for him to jump in....but he actually was one of the first few to chime in.
Sorry but it is not for sale. Sentimental value. It is a Chronomat 44.

Speaking of fancy watches, I was at a wedding last month and a guy was wearing a Patek. Never saw one in the flesh before. Basically the equivalent of wearing a nice new car on your wrist.
Understood. Say no more. Enjoy.

    Watches are obsolete.
I imagine my kid's-kids won’t even know what they are.
Same here. Usually wear a Raymond Weil Tango.
I have the Raymond Weil Tango with the black face, brushed stainless (gift from my wife)--love the watch, wear it everyday, casual or dress. Nice and simple, clean, slim.

I have a Timex Ironman for training, running, swimming and the beach. Throw it out every two years or so when it stops working and get a new one.

Bunch of others I don't wear much.

Non-dominant hand, face out. Not sure who would wear a watch face in. That's crazy talk.

Many people just throw stuff away without fixing it, or attempting to fix it.

A guy I work with bought new boots when his boot lace started to fray.

I had the same thing happen to mine. 3$ new boot lace.

He spent 200$ on the same pair of boots.

It's a military thing. Grandpa is 92 still wears his watch face in. Says he did it in the war so the sun wouldnt glare off of it and give his position away.

With the wear and tear, the band sometimes goes, I've cracked the covering on 2, it's never a battery thing. But since I am familiar with the functionality, I just keep going back to it.

Cracked case/crystal or torn band can't be fixed on these.

I'm never wasteful that way, if I can legitimately fix something, I would. It's waterproof, once the crystal cracked water invaded the electronics and zapped them. The band is rubber and attached to the watch, it can't be changed.

Would cost more than the $50 cost of the watch to even try, and it still wouldn't work.

LMAO, yea I'm salt of the earth!

I'll spam the thread with my (small) collection, I guess. Changing the straps often (as I do) really adds a new look to a lot of watches. I'll spare you all the multiple shots of the same watch on different dead animals.

The DOXA and Seiko are my current beaters (along with a G-Shock). Just got a Seiko aviator watch, too. The two on mesh have Omega bracelets that go with them, as well as some nice OEM rubber straps. The vintage gold one has a stainless (not pictured) counterpart with a textured silver dial. I split about 12 different straps between them. The first one has about 8 different straps, from brown alligator to a perfect blue crocodile. Next up for me will be my first Breitling, the Superocean Heritage 42.

Left (non dominant) wrist, dial up.

I've got about 50 watches as I'm a bit of a collector, the ones I wear the most are my Omega Speedmaster '57 Reissue (leather strap, retro, casual) and my Rolex Submariner Date (steel bracelet, current, business casual). My beater watch is a Luminox Navy Seal (lightweight, battery, rubber strap) which is a great utility player.

Everyone man needs 3 watch types: Sport, dress, beater.

+1 to what SAR said, and kudos on the watches. Really nice, guys.
No Jetworks yet???

Any man who wears a watch on his right hand needs a good ***** slapping.

Also, what the hell is with this trend of guys wearing white watches??? I see this all the time now, wtf is wrong with people???

Anyways, I wear a Tissot...planning on an Omega Seamaster sometime soon.
White watches are teh ghey, ceramic, platinum or otherwise. White is a wimmens color, just like cars.

Saw a mid-size used Aqua Terra for sale, thought of you right away. It sold in a flash.
