    The Bacon Corner

Not sure if there is already a thread for this, but could it really hurt to have another one? I'll start this one off with a song.

That video has to be one of the gayest things I've ever seen, up there with the volleyball scene in Top Gun.

Having said that, I had bacon wrapped scallops last night, and bacon this morning with breakfast.

    Well done. :D

I make a mean Goulash and it all starts with bacon. The fat to braise the beef and the bacon goes into the dish at the end. Served over Penn Dutch noodles, it's a freakin' killer of a cool weather dish.

I would like to here testimonials from our Jewish and perhaps even Muslim Jet fans who have partaken in the bacon.

What was your fist experience like ? Was there any guilt or nightmares ?

Was it as good as advertised (by the Goyin or Kuffar)

I recently read there is some sort of Spanish bacon now available here in the states. Something like Jamon Iberica. One leg (10-15 pounds) was something like $750.

That better be some damn good bacon at that rate.

Not much guilt - but i have to admit, it was a bit strange, in the sense that I was eating something I wasn't supposed to. Still have that feeling now even though I haven't really been kosher since I was 15 or so.

Still don't make bacon at home - it's too antithetical to my upbringing. But I fully concede, it's delicious.

There is nothing like a simple, basic, B.L.T. crafted by my wife with love. No matter how many times I make my own, they never taste as great as the ones she makes.

Fascinating thank you. You may be missing out on the best part, home cooked bacon has something over restaurant bacon - probably the fact that at home you are not cooking large quantities or reheating it.

I dated a muslim doctor for a year and shared my desire with her to raise free-range heritage breed pigs. Needless to say, the woman was disgusted ... it was all downhill from there.

    She is. I'm not.

As part of our compromise, she does cook some meat products for me to eat.

I, in turn, eat a mostly-vegetarian diet with her.

    Works well.

I'm curious as the taste of the dishes that she cooks. If she's a vegetarian and doesn't eat meat, how do the dishes come out?

Most are basic stuff tbqh, where "tasting" isn't really required.

    Over-baked Bacon (best Bacon).
    Pan-boiled-then-broiled Hotdogs and Kielbasa.
Overbaked Freezer stuff, like Fish, Hamburgers, etc.
    Sandwiches and the like.

Generally, anything that requires a recipie and tatsing, she's not making or we're making a Vegetarian version of it.

As I've mentioned, I eat alot of tofu, soy product and the like.

We had it all over Spain--it's literally on almost evey plate. Iberica and Serrano. A cured ham--the spanish version of prosciutto--needs to be made from a certain pig. They just leave them out on the counter and cut thin slices off. Delicious. Here are a bunch of them hanging in a market.
