So we all agree that the fact that Scott likely sucks but this doesn't mean that Hunter now sucks any less ?

    It was Pro Football Focus.

I don't know about Hunter. The ranking is by subscription only and I read about Scott's off a subscriber's blog.

And Scott was 70, albeit with a lot less snaps than Hunter.

Sirius XM Pat Kirwin says if Jets are banking on Hunter, they
    should sign this guy now.

By the way, anyone know an easy way to make this stuff keep it's tabular format? Sorry for the mess.

Scott is better than Hunter and probably would cost just a little bit north of the league minimum at this time. It's a no-brainer.

Scott is not a great player but he is better than Wayne Hunter. And this is coming from someone who actually doesn't hate Wayne Hunter.

Even a marginal improvement at RT has the potential to ripple through the right side of the line, from TE to C and hell, even blocking backs you can now send out on routes slightly more often.
The two main issues with pass blocking in 2011 were: 1) No legit blocking TE on roster and 2) playcalling was predictable as ever thanks to Schittyhymen.

Hunter sucked but if the defense knows 80% of the time exactly what you're going to do and you never help him he's gonna be a turnstile. Ditto goes for any other mediocre OT.

Sign him for cheap to put pressure on Hunter who's supposedly our starting RT. Let the best RT win.

Based on various fan sites, Steelers' fans opinions of Scott are very similar to the opinions of Hunter (rightfully) held around here. The bolded text in this quote in particular sounds eerily familiar:

Scott struggled, mightily at times, during the regular season, but stepped up his game impressively during the playoffs and Super Bowl XLV. The Steelers thought so highly of his progress that he began the 2011 season as the starter.

That changed fast, however, as he was unable to protect Ben Roethlisberger's blind side, and the team quickly moved to bring back Max Starks. Scott continued to receive action however, as repeated injuries forced the Steelers to play musical chairs on offensive line.

How ironic that the Steelers and Jets, who played in the 2010 Season AFC Championship game, both thought that they had found solid starters at Tackle based on their playoff runs that year - and both had rude awakenings during the 2011 season.

My opinion based on this - pass on Scott.

Yet Brick gave up more sacks and can't run block too. Ground n pound here we come?
